The Great Lakes Firearms AR-10 in .300 Blackout is a purpose-built semi-automatic rifle engineered for shooters who want serious performance in a proven platform. This isn't a budget parts bin special—it's a cohesive rifle that combines quality stainless steel and billet aluminum components into a package that handles hunting, precision shooting, and tactical applications. The 24-inch stainless barrel paired with a 1:10 twist rate is optimized for .300 Blackout ballistics, whether you're running subsonic loads for suppressed work or full-power ammunition for extended range.

Great Lakes Firearms built this AR-10 around genuine 7075 billet aluminum lower and upper receivers, meaning you're starting with a rock-solid foundation rather than forged alternatives. The 20-inch M-Lok upper handguard with integrated Picatinny rail gives you mounting flexibility for optics, lights, and accessories without proprietary rail systems. A custom-designed bolt carrier group and charging handle reflect attention to details that matter when you're putting rounds downrange. The rifle comes configured with a Hogue fixed stock and standard grip, a no-nonsense setup that works out of the box and won't break your budget with cosmetics.

The 5-round magazine capacity keeps this rifle compliant for hunters in states with magazine restrictions, making it a smart choice if you're in a jurisdiction with specific regulations. A .750 steel gas block with black oxide coating keeps things running reliably, and the rifle-length gas system is time-tested on the AR platform. At 10.2 pounds, it's substantial enough to soak up recoil but still manageable for field use. The 5/8 x 24 muzzle brake on the stainless barrel accepts common suppressors and brakes in that pattern.

Whether you're building a suppressed .300 Blackout rig for hunting, setting up a precision rifle for the range, or simply want a quality AR-10 that performs without the hype, this Great Lakes Firearms model delivers straightforward, dependable engineering.

Frequently Asked Questions

What magazine does the Great Lakes Firearms AR-10 .300 Blackout use?

The rifle comes with a custom 5-round aluminum magazine. It's designed for AR-10 platform compatibility, so you can use other AR-10-compatible magazines as well.

Is the .300 Blackout AR-10 set up for a suppressor?

Yes. The 5/8 x 24 stainless steel muzzle brake accepts standard suppressors and brakes threaded in that pattern, making it an excellent foundation for suppressed shooting. The rifle-length gas system works well with both suppressed and unsuppressed configurations.

Can I upgrade the stock, grip, or handguard on this rifle?

Absolutely. The Great Lakes Firearms AR-10 is built on the standard AR-10 platform, so you can swap the Hogue fixed stock, standard grip, and handguard with any compatible AR-10 accessories. It accepts standard AR-10 lower parts kits and triggers, giving you full upgrade flexibility.

The rifle is 45.5 inches in overall length and weighs 10.2 pounds, making it manageable for hunting and field use while the weight helps control recoil.
