The Diamondback DBAM29 9mm subcompact pistol brings serious capability to a package built for everyday carry and personal defense. This is a no-nonsense striker-fired 9mm that doesn't compromise on capacity or shootability—you get a choice of 17- or 12-round magazines depending on your holster and preference, paired with a 3.5-inch stainless barrel and a 6.49-inch overall length that slides into waistbands and bags without fanfare. Whether you're looking for a reliable EDC piece, a backup gun, or a compact 9mm that won't break the bank, the DBAM29 delivers the kind of straightforward performance that works.

Built around a polymer frame and a gun-grade stainless steel slide finished in black nitride, this pistol is designed to handle daily wear. The recoil system uses all-steel captured internals—a design choice that absorbs energy and keeps parts where they belong. The striker-fired double-action-only trigger runs a predictable 5–6 lb pull with a safety trigger mechanism, and the 4.97-inch sight radius pairs well with the standard 3-dot setup for quick target acquisition. Everything about the DBAM29 is straightforward: no unnecessary features, no learning curve if you've ever run a modern duty-style pistol.

At 22 ounces unloaded, the DBAM29 is light enough for all-day carry without leaving you feeling undergunned. The slide width of 0.975 inches keeps bulk down, and the gun-grade stainless barrel with a 1:10 right-hand twist ensures consistent performance across standard 9mm ammunition. Available in black or FDE, this is a pistol that works whether you're heading to the range, into the field, or simply carrying for peace of mind.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Diamondback DBAM29 compatible with Glock holsters and accessories?

The DBAM29 uses Glock-compatible sights, so you can swap in aftermarket Glock-pattern sights if you want to upgrade. For holsters and other accessories designed around a specific frame shape, confirm fit with the manufacturer before purchasing, as the DBAM29 has its own frame profile.

Can I carry this pistol every day?

Yes. At 22 ounces and 6.49 inches long, the DBAM29 is built for concealed carry. The subcompact size and choice of 12- or 17-round magazines give you flexibility depending on your holster and clothing. Many shooters choose the 12-round magazine for deeper concealment and the 17-rounder for range or duty use.

What's the difference between the 17-round and 12-round magazines?

Both magazines fit the pistol. The 17-round magazine brings the overall height to 5.6 inches, while the 12-round magazine reduces it to 4.6 inches. The 12-round sits lower in the grip for a more compact profile suitable for deeper concealment; the 17-round gives you more ammunition on board.

Is the trigger single-action or double-action?

The DBAM29 is a striker-fired double-action-only pistol, meaning every trigger press delivers the same consistent 5–6 lb pull. There's no hammer to manually cock or slide-induced trigger reset—just consistent breaks every time you press.
