The Daniel Defense Delta 5 bolt-action rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor brings modular AR-platform thinking to precision long-range shooting. Unlike traditional bolt guns locked into fixed configurations, the Delta 5 ships ready to customize—no gunsmith, no wait. Whether you're chasing distance at the range, hunting big game, or pushing your skills downrange, this 24" rifle gives you the foundation to build exactly what you need right out of the box.

The mechanical bedding, stainless steel action, and cold hammer-forged barrel work together to deliver the rigidity competitive shooters and hunters expect from a magnum-caliber platform. The three-lug bolt with its 60-degree throw cycles smoothly and fast; the floating bolt head keeps things consistent shot to shot. Your trigger is a Timney Elite Hunter single-stage with two-position safety—crisp, adjustable between 1.5 and 4 pounds, and tuned for precision. The 20 MOA Picatinny rail is already integrated, so you can mount your optic immediately and get to zero without extra hardware.

Stock configuration is where the Delta 5 truly shines: the carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer chassis adjusts for length of pull and butt pad height, while the cheek riser lets you dial in your natural sight picture. Eleven M-LOK attachment points along the forend plus three quick-detach sling stations mean you can rig the rifle however you shoot. The muzzle is threaded 5/8x24 and ships with a protector. It accepts AICS pattern magazines—one five-rounder is included.

At 9.5 pounds, the Delta 5 balances carry-ability with the mass needed for recoil management and stability. The 1:8 twist is optimized for 6.5 Creedmoor, and the overall length maxes out at 44 inches, keeping things manageable in the field or from the bench.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I swap barrels on the Delta 5?

Yes. One of the Delta 5's standout features is user-interchangeable barrels. You can change calibers or barrel profiles yourself without a gunsmith—the cold hammer-forged barrel is removable, and Daniel Defense publishes detailed swap instructions so you can customize for different loads or use cases.

What magazines does the Delta 5 accept?

The Delta 5 is built around the AICS pattern short-action magazine. It accepts standard AICS detachable single-feed magazines, and one five-round PMAG in 7.62 AC AICS Short Action is included with the rifle.

Is a scope rail included, or do I need to buy one?

A 20 MOA Picatinny scope base is integrated into the receiver. It comes pre-mounted with four #10-32 bolts, so you can attach your scope rings and rings immediately—no extra rail required.

How adjustable is the stock?

The stock offers three user-adjustable dimensions: length of pull, butt pad height, and cheek riser height. This lets you dial in a natural sight picture and comfortable fit whether you're shooting prone on the bench or carrying the rifle in the field.
