The Daniel Defense DD5 V4 is a semi-automatic AR-10 platform rifle built for shooters who demand precision and reliability at distance. Chambered in .308 Winchester/7.62 NATO, this rifle delivers the accuracy and power needed for long-range hunting, tactical shooting, and serious range work. With an 18-inch cold hammer forged barrel, adjustable gas block, and Daniel Defense's proven engineering, the DD5 V4 is a rifle that works whether you're running it suppressed or unsuppressed, in competition or in the field.

Daniel Defense engineered the DD5 V4 around consistency and durability. The proprietary cold hammer forged barrel is chrome-lined for longevity and accuracy, while the superfinished, DLC-coated bolt carrier group cycles reliably and cleans easily—crucial when you're pushing rounds downrange in all conditions. The adjustable gas block lets you dial in the perfect gas port for your ammunition and suppressor setup, eliminating over-gassing and reducing felt recoil. The bolt carrier itself includes a buffer for optimized cycling, so you get smooth, predictable performance shot after shot.

The rifle's foundation is solid: a 4-bolt connection system for added accuracy, a DD mil-spec trigger, and the GRIP-N-RIP ambidextrous charging handle with anti-gas features. The M-LOK free-floating rail system gives you the modularity you need to build your setup. The DD5 V4 accepts standard SR-25 magazines, so you're not locked into proprietary parts. At 8.6 pounds unloaded with a 20-round magazine included, it's manageable without sacrificing the barrel stiffness you need for precision.

This is a rifle for hunters and shooters who understand that barrel life and accuracy matter, and who want a platform that handles suppressed shooting as well as it does unsuppressed. If you're serious about .308 NATO territory—whether for hunting, distance shooting, or tactical applications—the DD5 V4 delivers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the DD5 V4 work with a suppressor?

Yes—the adjustable gas block is specifically designed for suppressed shooting. You can dial in the gas port to run reliably and smoothly whether you're using a suppressor or not, eliminating the over-gassing that can occur with a fixed gas block when running canned.

What magazines does the DD5 V4 use?

The DD5 V4 accepts all standard SR-25 pattern magazines. Your rifle comes with one 20-round magazine, and you can source additional SR-25 mags from various manufacturers without being locked into proprietary parts.

Is the bolt carrier group easy to maintain?

Yes. The bolt carrier group is superfinished and DLC-coated, which makes cleaning and maintenance significantly easier than traditional phosphate finishes. The design is straightforward and field-serviceable.

What's included with the rifle?

The DD5 V4 comes with one 20-round SR-25 pattern magazine. The rifle is ready to shoot once you add an optic or iron sights and ammunition.
