The CZ-USA Hammer Coach is a 20-inch 12-gauge side-by-side shotgun built for hunters and sport shooters who appreciate classic American firearm design. This Model 06130 brings authentic Old West aesthetics to modern shooting, with fully functional external hammers and double triggers that harken back to stagecoach-era shotguns. If you want a compact, traditionally styled shotgun that handles like a true coach gun, the Hammer Coach delivers the look and handling characteristics that defined practical defensive and hunting shotguns of the 1800s—but in a package built to modern standards.
What sets the Hammer Coach apart is its attention to period-correct details without sacrificing reliability. The color case-hardened receiver and gloss black chrome barrels give it a genuine vintage appearance, while the Turkish walnut stock with pistol grip and splinter forend provide a comfortable, classic hold. The manual tang safety and rebounding hammers are traditional features that give you direct mechanical control—no complicated safety levers or push-button mechanisms to worry about in the field.
The 20-inch barrels are choked fixed Cylinder/Cylinder, making the gun equally at home in upland hunting, clay sports, or as a versatile utility shotgun. The 3-inch chamber handles standard and magnum loads, giving you flexibility in shot selection. At 6.7 pounds and just over 37 inches overall, it's light and maneuverable in brush or timber. The 14.5-inch length of pull fits most shooters well, and the double triggers give you the option to select which barrel fires first—a practical advantage in the field.
This is a no-frills working shotgun with genuine character. It won't have the tactical ergonomics or polymer furniture of modern defense guns, and that's exactly the point. If you're drawn to hammer guns for hunting, historical interest, or simply want a shotgun that feels substantial and purposeful in your hands, the CZ Hammer Coach is worth a serious look.

Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the extractor and ejector?
The Hammer Coach uses an extractor, which removes spent shells from the chamber as you open the action. You'll need to manually remove them. This is a traditional feature common to coach guns and older side-by-side designs.
Can I shoot 3-inch magnum loads in this shotgun?
Yes. The 3-inch chamber is rated for both standard 2.75-inch and 3-inch magnum shotshells, giving you flexibility in ammunition choice for different hunting and shooting applications.
Is this shotgun good for hunting?
Yes. The 20-inch barrels and Cylinder/Cylinder chokes make it suitable for upland hunting and field use. The light weight (6.7 lbs) and compact length (37.38 inches overall) make it easy to carry through brush and timber.
How does the double trigger system work?
The dual triggers allow you to select which barrel fires first. Pull the front trigger to fire one barrel, the rear trigger to fire the other—giving you control over barrel selection without manipulating a selector switch.
