The CZ 457 Varmint Precision Trainer MTR is a .22LR bolt-action rifle built for shooters who want tactical training realism without the cost of centerfire ammunition or rifle prices. At 16.5 inches, this compact platform delivers the ergonomics and controls of a full-size tactical rifle, making it an ideal trainer for developing marksmanship fundamentals, practicing position work, and building trigger discipline on a rimfire budget. Whether you're preparing for longer-range hunting seasons, running dry-fire drills, or simply punching paper with precision, the Precision Trainer bridges the gap between economy and performance.
The heart of this rifle is a Manners carbon-fiber composite stock engineered for rigidity and repeatability. Hand-laid in high-temperature epoxy resins and vacuum- and heat-cured to optimize the fiber-to-resin ratio, the stock provides the rock-solid platform you'd find in competition and precision builds. Its two-tone camouflage finish—with carbon fiber peeking through the background—splits the difference between practical and purposeful. The stock design is based on the proven PRS1 profile, giving you the fit and features serious shooters depend on.
Handling the accuracy mandate is a cold hammer-forged Varmint barrel threaded 1/2"-28, ready for a suppressor or other muzzle device if you want to keep things quiet on the range. The combination of a rigid stock and precision barrel makes the Precision Trainer a dependable tool for sub-MOA work and consistent group measurement. At this price point and caliber, you get the look, feel, and precision of a tactical rifle without the range time eating your wallet.
