The Colt M1911 Government .45 ACP stands as one of the most iconic handguns ever built—and for good reason. This 5-inch-barreled classic carries forward the legacy of one of America's most respected firearms with a design that has proven itself across more than a century. Whether you're a serious collector, a .45 ACP traditionalist, or someone who appreciates a firearm built on proven principles, the M1911 Government delivers the kind of reliable single-action performance that made it legendary in the first place.
What sets this particular model apart is its commitment to elegance paired with genuine shootability. The high-polish royal blue finish isn't just for show—it's a nod to the Commercial Government Models that set the standard for what a 1911 should be. The National Match barrel, Series 70 firing system, and staked front sights reflect Colt's attention to fit and function. You get fixed sights that are proven and dependable, a service hammer that suits a lifetime of use, and double diamond checkered rosewood grips finished with an inlaid gold Rampant Colt medallion that speaks to the craftsmanship inside the metal.
At 8.5 inches overall with a 7+1 capacity, this is a full-size Government model built for shooters who want control and feedback. The .45 ACP cartridge carries the power and stopping authority that hasn't changed since 1911. This is a handgun for the range, for competition, for carry if that's your choice, or simply for the serious collector who understands that some designs transcend trends. When you buy a Colt 1911, you're buying into a direct line of manufacturing excellence—not a modern reinterpretation, but the real thing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a true Colt Government model or a clone?
This is a genuine Colt M1911 Government—built by Colt using their Series 70 design and manufacturing standards. You're getting the original, not a modern reproduction or competitor's version.
What's the difference between the Series 70 and other 1911 systems?
The Series 70 is Colt's traditional design that uses a collet-type bushing and firing pin stop. It's proven, simple to work on, and refined after decades of use. It balances reliability with the classic 1911 shooting experience.
What does the National Match barrel bring to the table?
The National Match barrel is tightly fitted and built to tighter tolerances than standard 1911 barrels, which supports better accuracy and a solid lockup. It's one reason this model is suitable for serious shooting and competition.
What cartridges will this firearm chamber?
This pistol is chambered in .45 ACP only. The barrel, magazine, and all internals are designed for that cartridge.
