The Colt CMC Marine Pistol in .45 ACP is a single-action 1911-platform handgun built for shooters who demand proven reliability and modern tactical capability. This 5-inch barrel model combines Colt's legacy of M1911 craftsmanship with contemporary features like Novak Tritium night sights and an integral Picatinny rail—making it equally at home at the range, in the field, or mounted with a light for home defense. The stainless steel frame and slide are finished in desert sand Cerakote, delivering a rugged, corrosion-resistant aesthetic that works in harsh conditions.
Built on a full-size stainless steel frame with a 7-round magazine capacity, the CMC Marine delivers the power and stopping potential .45 ACP is known for. The G10 grip panels offer purchase and durability, while the integrated Picatinny rail gives you the flexibility to add modern accessories without gunsmithing. At 8.5 inches overall and 2.8 pounds, it's substantial enough for serious work without being unwieldy for extended shooting sessions.
Colt engineered this pistol to meet military-grade standards, and that heritage shows in the fit, finish, and function. Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mount a light or laser to the CMC Marine?
Yes. The pistol features an integral Picatinny rail built into the frame, so you can attach tactical lights, lasers, or other rail-mounted accessories without modification.
What kind of ammunition does the Colt CMC Marine use?
It fires .45 ACP ammunition and holds 7 rounds in the magazine.
What are the night sights, and how do they work?
The pistol comes equipped with Novak Tritium night sights. Tritium is a radioactive isotope that glows in low-light conditions without requiring batteries, allowing you to aim accurately in darkness or dimly lit environments.
Is this pistol suitable for concealed carry?
At 8.5 inches overall and 2.8 pounds, the CMC Marine is full-size. While some shooters do carry full-size 1911s, this model is better suited for open carry, duty use, range shooting, or home defense rather than deep concealment.
