The Cimarron Firearms Copietta El Malo is a single-action revolver chambered in .38 Special/.357 Magnum, built for shooters who appreciate pre-war aesthetics and genuine cowboy-gun handling. With a 7.5-inch barrel, this is a serious working revolver—long enough for sight radius and velocity in both calibers, short enough to carry and draw without fuss. The color case hardened frame pairs with standard blue finish on the barrel and cylinder, creating that classic two-tone look that turns heads at any range or competition. If you've shot period-correct single-actions or simply prefer the mechanical simplicity and point-ability of a traditional revolver platform, the El Malo delivers both nostalgia and genuine utility.

The walnut smooth grips feel natural in the hand and won't catch on holster leather or brush. At 2.5 pounds, it's light enough for extended range sessions or trail use, yet substantial enough to manage recoil cleanly. The .357 Magnum chambering gives you flexibility—load it hot with full-power magnums for hunting or defense, or drop down to .38 Special loads for practice and reduced recoil. This is the kind of revolver that rewards learning the single-action trigger and feeding gate technique; there's no safety to fumble with, just straightforward point-and-shoot operation.

Cimarron builds these guns on proven designs with real attention to fit and finish. The El Malo name carries history and character—exactly what you want in a revolver that's as much about the experience of shooting as it is about function. Whether you're a Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) competitor, a collector of classic .357 magnums, or someone who just wants a no-nonsense single-action revolver without modern complications, this is worth a close look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I shoot both .38 Special and .357 Magnum in this revolver?

Is this revolver suitable for Cowboy Action Shooting?

The El Malo's classic single-action design, traditional loading gate, and pre-war profile make it well-suited for CAS competition. Always verify specific match requirements with your local sanctioning body.
