The Cimarron Firearms Cocentennial Model 1876 .50-95 lever-action rifle is a historically inspired replica that brings authentic 19th-century handling to modern shooters who appreciate classic American rifle design. Chambered in .50-95—one of the original Centennial calibers—this 28-inch octagonal-barreled rifle captures the spirit of the frontier era with genuine period-correct aesthetics and mechanics. Whether you're a lever-action enthusiast, a historical firearms collector, or someone drawn to the ergonomics and reliability of classic rifle platforms, this Cimarron delivers the look, feel, and function of a rifle that defined the American West.

Built to rigorous standards, the 1876 features a color case hardened receiver, lever, trigger, and hammer, paired with a standard blue finish on the barrel and tubular magazine. The fore-end and barrel band complete a cohesive, historically accurate appearance that stands out on the range or in a collection. The octagonal barrel profile is not just aesthetic—it's a classic design choice that many riflemen prefer for its balance and pointability in a traditional rifle.

This is a serious rifle for shooters who want more than mass-produced modern tactical gear. If you handload or shoot black powder cartridges, understand the ballistics and power of larger-bore rifles, and appreciate the mechanical simplicity and reliability of lever actions, the 1876 .50-95 offers authentic heritage and proven performance in a package that respects its lineage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What caliber is the Cimarron 1876 .50-95 and what ammunition does it use?

The Cimarron Model 1876 is chambered in .50-95, one of the authentic Centennial rifle cartridges from the original era. Ammunition availability is limited compared to modern calibers, so you'll typically need to source specialty ammunition or handload.

Is this a replica or an original antique rifle?

This is a modern replica rifle manufactured by Cimarron Firearms, inspired by original 1876 designs from the Cimarron antique collection. It is not a genuine antique firearm.

What makes the octagonal barrel design important on a lever-action rifle?

The octagonal barrel is a classic design choice used on many historic rifles. Beyond its authentic appearance, this profile is favored by many shooters for its balance and handling characteristics compared to round barrels.

Can I hunt with the 1876 .50-95?

That depends on your local regulations, the game you intend to pursue, and your understanding of the cartridge's ballistics and power. You should verify that both the caliber and rifle type are legal for your intended use in your state or region, and ensure you have the ammunition and knowledge needed to shoot it safely and responsibly.
