The Christensen Arms Traverse .300 Wby Mag 26" barrel bolt-action rifle brings serious mountain-hunting capability to hunters and long-range shooters who refuse to compromise on weight or accuracy. Built on a natural stainless action with a carbon fiber composite Monte-Carlo stock, the Traverse splits the difference between a classic feel and modern materials—you get the handling character that works in the field, backed by engineering that keeps the rifle honest. At 7.3 pounds, it's light enough to carry all day in rugged terrain without the penalty of excessive recoil or accuracy drift.
The barrel is where Christensen Arms has earned its reputation: a 416R stainless steel, aerograde carbon fiber wrapped design, hand-lapped and button-rifled, with a removable stainless steel side-baffle brake to manage .300 Wby Mag recoil. The barrel floats free for consistent shot-to-shot performance, and the action includes a Trigger Tech trigger that breaks clean and predictable. You get a 0-MOA optic rail ready for your preferred glass, an enlarged ejection port for reliable feeding, and an improved bolt release that works when it matters. The twin-lug spiral-fluted bolt is nitride-treated for longevity, and the dual ejector handles magnum pressures without hesitation.
The stock is purpose-built for hunting: carbon fiber composite construction with a modified beavertail forearm, raised comb, and full palm swell for a secure hold in any weather. Four picatinny rails across the bottom let you mount a sling or accessory rail without gunsmithing. Stainless steel pillars and spot bedding keep groups tight, and the hinged floor plate with an internal magazine holds four rounds (three magnum). This rifle ships backed by Christensen Arms' Sub-MOA Guarantee—they stand behind the accuracy.
The .300 Wby Mag is a proven long-range and magnum-game cartridge; the Traverse's 26" barrel gives you the velocity to hunt elk, mule deer, and other heavy game at extended ranges. If you're building a rifle that handles like a classic but performs like a modern precision gun, the Traverse deserves a serious look.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the Traverse different from other .300 Wby Mag hunting rifles?
The Traverse combines a carbon fiber wrapped barrel and composite stock to keep weight down to 7.3 pounds, making it a genuinely packable mountain rifle without sacrificing accuracy. The hand-lapped, free-floating barrel, Trigger Tech trigger, and Christensen Arms' Sub-MOA Guarantee mean you're not just carrying light—you're carrying accurate. The Monte-Carlo stock and classic styling appeal to hunters who want modern performance in a gun that looks and feels like a rifle, not a tactical platform.
Is the Traverse suitable for long-range hunting?
Yes. The .300 Wby Mag is a respected long-range and magnum-game cartridge, the 26" barrel maximizes velocity, and the 0-MOA optic rail accepts any modern scope. The free-floating barrel, hand-lapped bore, and Sub-MOA guarantee support precision shooting at distance. The removable brake helps manage recoil on heavy rounds, which is useful for repeated shooting sessions or practice.
What is the magazine capacity?
The Traverse has an internal magazine with a hinged floor plate. It holds four rounds in standard configuration, or three magnum rounds (the .300 Wby Mag setup).
What optics and accessories can I attach to the Traverse?
The rifle includes a 0-MOA top optic rail that accepts standard Picatinny-mount scopes and optics. Four bottom picatinny rails allow you to mount a sling, bipod, accessory rail, or other gear without modifications.
