The Browning X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan in 7mm PRC is a modern, lightweight big-game hunting rifle built for hunters who won't compromise on accuracy, speed, or weight. This bolt-action rifle combines Browning's proven X-Bolt 2 platform with premium materials—a carbon fiber–wrapped stainless steel barrel, a McMillan Game Warden 2.0 carbon fiber stock, and a stainless steel action finished in Cerakote Carbon Gray. Whether you're glassing hillsides in the backcountry or taking a long-range shot at elk, this rifle delivers the handling and performance serious hunters demand.

The 7mm PRC chambers a potent magnum round that threads the needle between velocity, energy, and barrel life—a cartridge gaining fast credibility among long-range and mountain hunters. The 24-inch barrel wears a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake (thread protector included) and is threaded 5/8-24 for suppressor or brake compatibility. Carbon fiber wrapping keeps weight down without sacrificing rigidity, a critical advantage if you're covering steep country on foot. The rifle ships with a Recoil Hawg brake, thread protector, and is ready to reach for.

Handling and control are refined throughout. The redesigned spiral-fluted bolt cycles fast with a smooth 60-degree lift and won't bind under modern optics. A new ergonomic bolt knob shapes naturally to your hand. The X-Bolt 2's adjustable DLX Trigger is tuned to hunting weights for a predictable, clean break. The top-tang safety is intuitive and easy to manipulate. The action is bedded at the recoil lug and screws, with a free-floated barrel for consistent accuracy. An X-Lock Scope Mounting System uses four screws per base for dependable optics security. The Pachmayr Decelerator pad absorbs recoil in the field. Aluminum Picatinny rails—one 20 MOA with a bubble level, one standard—give you ample mounting options for glass, bipods, and accessories.

If you're in the market for a carbon fiber bolt-action hunting rifle that balances cutting-edge materials, ergonomics, and proven Browning engineering, the X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan in 7mm PRC stands ready to earn its place in your safe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Browning X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan ready to shoot out of the box?

The rifle ships with the Recoil Hawg muzzle brake and thread protector installed, so you can take it to the range immediately. However, you'll need to mount an optic, bore-sight, and zero it before hunting. The 20 MOA Picatinny rail and X-Lock Scope Mounting System make mounting glass straightforward and repeatable.

What is the 7mm PRC, and is it good for hunting?

The 7mm PRC is a modern magnum cartridge offering excellent velocity and energy for big-game hunting, with good barrel life compared to some other magnums. It's gaining traction among long-range and mountain hunters. Ammunition availability and rifle offerings in 7mm PRC have expanded significantly in recent years.

Can I suppress the Browning X-Bolt 2 Pro McMillan?

Yes. The barrel is threaded 5/8-24, which is a standard thread pitch for many suppressors. You can remove the included thread protector and attach a compatible suppressor. Always verify suppressor compatibility with your chosen model.

What is included with this rifle?

The rifle comes with a Recoil Hawg muzzle brake installed and a thread protector. It does not include an optic, bipod, or ammunition. The X-Lock Scope Mounting System is integrated into the receiver.
