The Browning X-Bolt 2 Speed SPR in 7mm PRC is a modern hunting rifle built for shooters who demand accuracy without sacrificing portability. Introduced at SHOT Show 2024, this short-action speedster pairs a fluted sporter-weight barrel with Browning's newly redesigned receiver and bolt, all topped with a versatile OVIX camouflage composite stock. Whether you're glassing from a ridge or moving through thick country, the X-Bolt 2 Speed SPR delivers the precision long-range hunters expect from Browning, wrapped in a package that won't wear you out over a full day afield.
The heart of this rifle is Browning's fresh take on the X-Bolt action. The redesigned receiver includes enhanced bolt guidance surfaces for smoother, more reliable operation, while the new spiral-fluted bolt—fitted with an ergonomic knob—cycles fast and clears larger optics without interference. Recoil is managed by a 1-1/4" Inflex pad, and the short 60-degree bolt lift means you'll stay behind the scope longer. Safety features include a top-tang safety lever and a bolt unlock button that works in conjunction with it, adding a layer of control during chamber checks and unloading.
The 20-inch fluted barrel is purposefully shorter and lighter than traditional sporter profiles, yet the belled muzzle is threaded to accept a suppressor, letting you optimize the rifle for sound reduction if you choose. All metal is protected by Smoked Bronze Cerakote—a finish that outlasts traditional bluing and bare stainless in harsh field conditions. The new Vari-Tech composite stock is fully adjustable for length of pull, comb height, and grip angle, so whether you're a kid growing into the rifle or adjusting for different shooting positions, fit is never a compromise. Interchangeable sporter and vertical grips plus black overmolded surfaces mean you get control in any condition, while the OVIX pattern blends seamlessly in mixed terrain.
Optics mounting is straightforward with Browning's X-Lock scope base system—four screws per base lock your glass down rock-solid to the receiver. The action is bedded at the recoil lug and action screws, and the barrel floats free, all contributing to the inherent accuracy this platform is known for. The X-Bolt 2's patent-pending adjustable DLX trigger is tuned to hunting weights from the factory, so you get a predictable, crisp break right out of the box.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the X-Bolt 2 Speed SPR suppressor-ready?
Yes. The belled muzzle is threaded and ready to accept a suppressor. The shorter, lighter barrel profile was specifically designed to work with suppressor-ready threading, so you can add sound reduction without altering the rifle.
Can I adjust the stock for my body type and shooting style?
Absolutely. The Vari-Tech composite stock adjusts for length of pull, comb height, and grip angle. It also comes with interchangeable sporter and vertical grips, so you can customize fit and control for your preferred shooting position.
What optics does this rifle work with?
The short 60-degree bolt lift clears large optics without interference. The X-Lock scope mounting system uses four screws per base for a rock-solid connection to the receiver, so you can confidently mount any standard scope.
How does the trigger feel out of the box?
The rifle ships with Browning's patent-pending adjustable DLX trigger factory-set to hunting weights. You get a predictable, crisp break from the factory; if you want to fine-tune it further, the trigger is adjustable.
