The Browning X-Bolt 2 Speed is a modern bolt-action hunting rifle built for shooters who demand both accuracy and practical field performance. Chambered in .300 Winchester Magnum with a 26-inch fluted barrel, this rifle pairs Browning's refined action with a purpose-built composite stock finished in their versatile OVIX camouflage pattern. It's designed for hunters pursuing elk, deer, and other medium to large game where reliable shot placement and manageable recoil matter.
What sets the X-Bolt 2 Speed apart is its emphasis on shooter customization and handling. The Vari-Tech composite stock offers adjustable length of pull, comb height, and grip angle—rare features on factory rifles that let you dial in a fit that works for your frame and shooting style. Interchangeable sporter and vertical grip options give you control over how the rifle feels in your hands, while the black overmolded surfaces provide solid purchase even when wearing gloves or in wet conditions. The 1-1/4 inch Inflex recoil pad absorbs punishment without creating a slippery surface.
The action itself is engineered for smooth, fast cycling. A spiral-fluted bolt with a redesigned knob paired with a short 60-degree lift makes rapid follow-up shots feasible, and the compact footprint clears modern optics easily. The fluted sporter-weight barrel strikes a balance—light enough to carry all day but substantial enough to shoot consistently. A radial muzzle brake helps manage recoil from the magnum cartridge. The Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish on the metal work resists corrosion better than traditional bluing and gives the rifle a clean, modern look that complements the OVIX camo.
Safety and reliability are built in. The receiver includes enhanced bolt guidance surfaces for smoother operation, while the barrel is free-floated and the action bedded at the recoil lug for consistency shot to shot. An easy-to-reach top-tang safety and a bolt unlock button (in conjunction with the safety) add control during chamber checks and unloading. The adjustable DLX trigger is set to hunting weights, and X-Lock scope bases with four screws per base ensure your optics stay put.

Frequently Asked Questions
What optics will fit on the Browning X-Bolt 2 Speed with the short bolt lift?
The 60-degree bolt lift clears most modern hunting scopes and lower-mounted optics. The X-Lock scope base system is designed to work with standard rifle scopes, and the compact action means you have more flexibility than with longer-throw bolts. We recommend confirming your specific scope choice will work with the rifle's profile, but the short lift is one of its practical advantages.
Can I adjust the stock to fit my body?
Yes. The Vari-Tech composite stock is adjustable for length of pull, comb height, and grip angle—three separate adjustments that let you customize the rifle to your frame and shooting position. You also have the option to swap between sporter and vertical grips depending on how you prefer to hold the rifle.
Is the Browning X-Bolt 2 Speed suitable for long-range hunting?
The .300 Winchester Magnum is a proven long-range cartridge, the free-floated barrel and bedded action are built for accuracy, and the adjustable trigger helps with precision. The rifle is equally at home hunting at typical field distances or pushing farther out. Your success will depend on your optics, ammunition, and shooting skills, but the rifle itself is engineered for consistent accuracy.
What finish protects against rust and corrosion?
The receiver and barrel are finished in Smoked Bronze Cerakote, a durable coating that provides superior corrosion resistance compared to traditional bluing or bare stainless steel. The composite stock and overmolded grip surfaces are inherently weather-resistant, making the rifle well-suited to hunting in wet or harsh conditions.
