The Browning X-Bolt 2 Speed in 300 PRC is a modern bolt-action rifle built for hunters who demand accuracy without compromise. This rifle combines a complete redesign of Browning's proven X-Bolt platform with practical features that work in the field: a fluted sporter-weight barrel that balances precision and pack weight, a spiral-fluted bolt with a fresh ergonomic knob for faster cycling, and a radial muzzle brake to help manage recoil. The 26-inch barrel and 300 PRC chambering deliver the velocity and ballistic performance serious long-range hunters expect, while the Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish provides durable corrosion resistance in harsh conditions.
What sets the X-Bolt 2 Speed apart is its Vari-Tech composite stock, engineered for a custom fit without gunsmithing. Adjust length of pull, comb height, and grip angle to match your build and shooting style. The stock ships with both sporter and vertical grip options, and the overmolded black surfaces give you secure purchase in wet or gloved conditions. OVIX camouflage breaks up your outline in diverse hunting terrain, while the 1-1/4" Inflex Recoil Pad absorbs punishment so you stay focused on the shot.
The action itself is a big step forward: a new receiver with enhanced bolt guidance surfaces for smoother, more reliable feeding, plus bedding at the recoil lug and action screws that stabilize the platform while freeing up the barrel to do its job. The patent-pending adjustable DLX trigger is tuned to hunting weights and breaks clean. Safety-wise, you get an intuitive top-tang safety and a bolt unlock button that works with it—making chamber checks and unloading safer and easier. The short 60-degree bolt lift clears most modern optics, and the X-Lock scope mounting system uses four screws per base for zero-shift security on long shots.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the X-Bolt 2 Speed different from the original X-Bolt?
The X-Bolt 2 Speed features a completely redesigned receiver with improved bolt guidance surfaces for smoother feeding, a new spiral-fluted bolt with a refined ergonomic knob, and the adjustable Vari-Tech stock that lets you customize length of pull, comb height, and grip angle. The patent-pending DLX trigger is also new, as is the Smoked Bronze Cerakote finish for better corrosion protection.
Is the 300 PRC a good long-range hunting caliber?
The 300 PRC was designed for precision long-range hunting and performs well at extended distances. Paired with the 26-inch fluted barrel and radial muzzle brake on this rifle, you get the velocity and ballistic performance the cartridge is known for, plus manageable recoil thanks to the brake and Inflex Recoil Pad.
Can I adjust the stock to fit my body size?
Yes. The Vari-Tech composite stock is adjustable for length of pull, comb height, and grip angle, allowing you to personalize the fit without paying for custom work or buying multiple rifles. The stock also comes with both sporter and vertical grip options.
What optics will fit on the X-Bolt 2 Speed?
The 60-degree bolt lift is designed to clear most modern optics. The rifle ships with the X-Lock scope mounting system, which uses four screws per base for secure, zero-shift attachment to the receiver. Consult your specific optic's height and mounting requirements to confirm fit.
