The Browning T-Bolt Target/Varmint is a purpose-built .22 LR rifle for shooters who demand accuracy and reliability in a compact, manageable package. Whether you're zeroing in on prairie dogs at distance, running drills at the range, or introducing a younger shooter to precision rifle fundamentals, this bolt-action .22 delivers the control and repeatability that make small-caliber shooting rewarding. The T-Bolt's reputation stems from honest engineering: a clean bolt throw, dependable feeding, and a stock designed to help you shoot your best without fuss or compromise.

Built on Browning's proven T-Bolt platform, this rifle pairs a polished blued steel receiver and barrel with a satin black walnut stock that's both durable and classically proportioned. The 22-inch barrel and 1:16 twist rate are optimized for standard and high-velocity .22 LR loads, giving you flexibility in ammunition choice without sacrificing consistency. At 5 pounds 8 ounces and just over 40 inches overall, it's light enough to carry all day but substantial enough to settle into a steady shooting position. The 10-round detachable magazine keeps you in the action without requiring a reload every few shots, and the included sling swivel studs let you rig it for field use or tactical training.

Shooters gravitate to the T-Bolt for target work, varmint control, and small-game hunting because the rifle stays out of your way—no sharp edges, no unnecessary complexity, no marketing gimmicks. If you're serious about learning to shoot or need a reliable .22 that does one job exceptionally well, this is the kind of rifle that earns a permanent spot in your safe.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Browning T-Bolt .22 good for target shooting and varmint hunting?

Yes. The T-Bolt Target/Varmint is purpose-built for both roles. The 1:16 barrel twist and 22-inch barrel deliver reliable accuracy with standard and high-velocity .22 LR ammunition, making it equally at home at the bench or in the field on varmints and small game.

What's the length of pull, and will it fit youth and adult shooters?

The length of pull is 14.25 inches, a standard dimension that works well for most adult shooters and older youth. If you're fitting a younger shooter, you may want to consider a recoil pad or aftermarket stock spacer.

Does this rifle come with sling swivels installed?

Yes, sling swivel studs are factory-installed, so you can attach a sling right out of the box for field carry or tactical training.

What magazine does the T-Bolt use, and how many rounds does it hold?

The T-Bolt uses a 10-round detachable magazine, allowing for extended shooting without frequent reloads.
