The Browning Maxus II 28" semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun is a purpose-built waterfowl and upland hunter's workhorse. Built on the proven Power Drive Gas System that's earned a reputation for reliability across the ammunition spectrum, the Maxus II refines what made the original a favorite in marshes and fields with a suite of comfort and handling upgrades that make longer days afield genuinely more enjoyable. Whether you're setting up for ducks at dawn or running clay courses, this is a shotgun engineered to cycle hard loads without flinching.

Browning listened to what shooters actually wanted in this generation. The new SoftFlex cheek pad and 1.5-inch Inflex recoil pad work together to soften the bite of 3.5-inch magnum loads—a real consideration when you're grinding through a full day. The redesigned stock and forearm now feature overmolded rubber panels for secure handling in wet conditions, and the stock itself is trimmable up to 3/4 inch and shim-adjustable for cast and length of pull, so it adapts to your frame rather than forcing you to adapt to it. Oversized bolt release and bolt handle make manipulating the gun intuitive even with cold hands or gloves. That new screw-on magazine cap opens the door to aftermarket extensions if competition or personal preference calls for more capacity.

The details matter on a gun you'll live with for years. Nickel Teflon coating on all the hard-working parts—bolt, slide, carrier, release, and handle—means corrosion resistance and smooth operation in salty, muddy, or brutally wet environments. A chrome chamber and bore protect against the elements. The Lightning Trigger delivers the fastest lock time in its class, and the ramped trigger guard makes loading faster and more natural. You get a fiber-optic front sight and ivory mid-bead for low-light target acquisition. The full Mossy Oak Bottomland camouflage finish blends into early-season habitat naturally. In the box: an ABS hard case, three extended Invector-Plus choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder), and a shotgun built to last.
