The Browning Maxus II Stalker is a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun built for serious hunters and clay shooters who demand reliability without compromise. This gas-operated autoloader combines a refined design with field-proven mechanics, making it equally at home in a marsh, over decoys, or at the range. The 28-inch barrel and lightweight profile give you the handling speed you need when birds are coming, while the Maxus II's legendary gas system keeps things running clean across the full spectrum of ammunition loads.
Browning engineered the Maxus II Stalker with genuine comfort in mind. The new SoftFlex cheek pad and 1.5-inch Inflex recoil pad work together to soften the blow of heavy magnum loads—a real advantage when you're shooting 3.5-inch goose rounds all day. Composite stock construction with overmolded rubber panels on the grip areas gives you secure purchase whether your hands are wet, cold, or muddy. The stock itself is adjustable; you can trim it up to 3/4 inch and dial in cast and length of pull with shims to fit your frame perfectly. New oversize bolt release and bolt handle make operation smoother under pressure, and the ramped trigger guard speeds up reloads when the moment matters.
This gun carries the DNA of the original Maxus—a platform that earned its reputation through genuine field performance, not marketing claims. The Power Drive gas system is tuned to cycle reliably from light target loads to the heaviest magnum ammunition. The Lightning Trigger delivers the fastest lock time in its class. A nickel-Teflon coating on the bolt, bolt slide, shell carrier, and bolt release protects internal parts and reduces friction, extending service life. The chrome-lined chamber and bore resist corrosion in wet, harsh conditions. You get three Invector-Plus choke tubes, a fiber-optic front sight with ivory mid-bead, and a hard case—everything you need out of the box.
The Stalker wears a no-glare matte black finish and purposeful, modern receiver styling that won't distract from the work at hand. This is a shotgun that prioritizes function over flash, the kind of tool that builds confidence through genuine reliability rather than promises.

Frequently Asked Questions
What ammunition does the Maxus II Stalker handle?
The Power Drive gas system is engineered to cycle reliably across the full spectrum of 12-gauge ammunition, from light target loads through 3.5-inch magnum rounds. You're not locked into a narrow ammunition range—load it with what works for your situation.
Can I adjust the stock to fit my body?
Yes. The composite stock can be trimmed up to 3/4 inch shorter, and it's shim-adjustable for both cast (left-right angle) and length of pull (front-to-back distance). This flexibility lets you dial in a fit that matches your frame and shooting style.
What's included in the box?
The Maxus II Stalker comes with a hard case, three Invector-Plus choke tubes (Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder), and the shotgun itself.
How does the Maxus II handle recoil from heavy magnum loads?
The combination of the new SoftFlex cheek pad and the 1.5-inch Inflex recoil pad works to absorb and distribute recoil energy, significantly reducing felt recoil. This design makes shooting 3.5-inch magnum goose loads more comfortable during extended sessions.
