The Browning Citori CXS 20-gauge over/under shotgun is a lightweight, pointable gun built for clay shooters and upland hunters who want a fast-handling platform without the recoil punishment of a 12-gauge. At 6 lbs 10 oz with a 28-inch barrel, this 20ga delivers a 50/50 point of impact—dead center between the barrels—making it equally at home in the skeet house, on a sporting clays course, or working through a field of quail. The gloss-finished Grade II American walnut stock pairs crisp aesthetics with practical function, while the Inflex recoil pad soaks up what little kick a 20 delivers.
The Citori CXS builds on Browning's proven over/under design with features that matter to serious shooters. Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones smooth the transition from chamber to bore, reducing pressure spikes and making the gun gentle on hand-loaded and light field loads alike. The flat floating rib with ventilated top and side ribs keeps the sight picture clean and helps cool the barrels between strings. A trio of Midas grade extended Invector-Plus choke tubes gives you the flexibility to tune your pattern for whatever you're shooting—and the extended design makes swaps fast when you need them.
Handling is where the CXS earns its keep. The 28-inch barrels split the difference between swing and control; the 14¾-inch length of pull and moderate drop dimensions fit most adult frames without fuss. Ivory front and mid bead sights are bright and fast to pick up. The Triple Trigger System with supplied trigger keeps the action simple and reliable. A 3-inch chamber means you're not locked into one shell length, though 20ga lovers will tell you 2¾-inch loads are all you need for clay work and upland birds.
This is a shotgun that rewards good fundamentals. It's light enough to swing all day, consistent enough to trust downrange, and refined enough to enjoy doing it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What choke tubes does the Citori CXS come with?
The Browning Citori CXS includes three Midas grade extended Invector-Plus choke tubes. Extended tubes are easier to grasp and swap between shooting—handy when you're fine-tuning your pattern for different distances or disciplines.
Is the 20-gauge Citori CXS suitable for clay sports and hunting?
Yes. The 50/50 point of impact and pointable 28-inch barrel make it equally at home in skeet, sporting clays, and field hunting for upland birds. The lightweight profile means you can shoot it all day without fatigue, and the 3-inch chamber gives you flexibility with shell selection.
What does the Vector Pro forcing cone do?
Browning's Vector Pro lengthened forcing cones smooth the transition from the chamber into the barrel bore. This reduces pressure spikes and helps the gun shoot softer, which is especially useful if you load your own ammunition or prefer light field loads.
What's the drop at comb and heel on this shotgun?
The Citori CXS has 1½ inches of drop at the comb and 2¼ inches at the heel. These dimensions are designed to suit most adult shooters and contribute to the gun's natural, pointable handling.
