The Browning Citori Hunter is a 20-gauge over-and-under shotgun built for hunters who want a classic, reliable platform that handles upland game, waterfowl, and clay work with equal composure. This 20-gauge over-under pairs the timeless balance and handling of the Citori platform with a practical 26-inch barrel and a 3-inch chamber that lets you reload with standard or magnum rounds depending on conditions. It's the kind of gun that earns its place in a truck bed or gun cabinet—not flashy, but genuinely useful in the field.
The Hunter's metalwork wears a gloss finish with gold accents on the receiver that catch light without broadcasting your position, while the Grade I American walnut furniture is finished in satin to the same end. That's genuine walnut—not plastic furniture—which means this gun will develop character through use and actually improve with handling over seasons. The Inflex recoil pad soaks up enough of the 20-gauge's mild kick to keep your shoulder happy through a morning of shooting, and the silver bead front sight is simple and effective for lead work on moving targets.
Three flush choke tubes ship with the gun—Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder—so you can adapt to whatever situation you're hunting. A 3-inch chamber means you're not locked into light loads; if you need heavier steel shot or longer-range patterns, the gun will handle it. This is a proven Citori pattern that has worked for hunters across decades, and Browning hasn't felt the need to reinvent the wheel.

Frequently Asked Questions
What choke tubes come with the Citori Hunter 20-gauge?
The gun ships with three flush choke tubes: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. You can swap them quickly depending on your shot distance and target size.
Is the 26-inch barrel suitable for hunting upland game and waterfowl?
Yes. The 26-inch barrels and 3-inch chamber make the Hunter versatile enough for upland birds, waterfowl, and clay shooting. The length balances quickness in brush with adequate sight radius for longer shooting when needed.
Does the Inflex recoil pad help with 20-gauge recoil?
The Inflex pad reduces felt recoil and makes shooting more comfortable, which matters on a long day in the field or during clay sessions where you fire many rounds.
What's the stock made of?
Grade I American walnut with a satin finish. This is real wood that will develop patina and character with field use, not a synthetic or plastic substitute.
