The Browning Citori 725 Field 20-gauge over-under shotgun combines refined handling with proven reliability in a classic platform that works equally well in the upland field or at the sporting clays range. This 28-inch barrel 3-inch chamber model carries forward the legacy of John M. Browning's B25 Superposed with modern refinements: a low-profile steel receiver that sits lower than earlier Citori designs, a mechanical FireLite trigger system, and Inflex recoil technology engineered to reduce felt impact during extended shooting sessions. The 725 Field appeals to hunters and clay shooters who want a gun that balances traditional aesthetics with functional performance—no gimmicks, just straightforward over-and-under engineering that's earned respect across generations.
Build quality starts with the walnut stock, finished in gloss oil and adorned with Grade II/III checkering for secure handling in wet or sweaty conditions. The low-profile receiver wears new accented engraving that gives the gun visual character without flash. Browning's commitment to durability shows in the full-width hinge pin and tapered locking bolt design, the same proven architecture that's backed thousands of Citori guns in the field for decades. The Invector-DS choke system delivers flexibility for hunting loads or clay target ammunition, and the ivory bead sight provides a crisp aiming reference across changing light.
Whether you're working a covey of quail, testing yourself at a local clay course, or simply looking for a shotgun that feels right the moment you mount it, the Citori 725 Field 28" 20-gauge is a no-nonsense tool built to shoot straight and last. This is the gun that sets the standard—and it still does.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Citori 725 Field best used for?
The Citori 725 Field excels at upland hunting and sporting clays shooting. The balanced handling and responsive trigger make it suitable for fast-paced clay courses or flushing game birds, while the durable receiver and proven Browning engineering make it reliable for a full day in the field.
What's included with the shotgun?
The Citori 725 Field ships with the Invector-DS choke system installed. Specific choke tubes or additional accessories should be confirmed at point of purchase.
How does the mechanical FireLite trigger differ from other shotgun triggers?
The mechanical FireLite trigger is engineered to deliver a lighter, more responsive pull than standard over-under triggers, giving you a cleaner break and better trigger control—particularly useful if you shoot regularly at clay targets or hunt in situations that demand quick follow-up shots.
Is the 20-gauge Citori 725 suitable for experienced shooters moving up from smaller gauges?
Yes. The 20-gauge with a 3-inch chamber offers more versatility than a .410 or 28-gauge while remaining manageable for shooters who prefer lighter recoil. The Inflex recoil pad further reduces felt impact, making extended shooting sessions more comfortable.
