The Browning BLR Lightweight Stainless in .243 Winchester is a nimble, hard-working lever-action rifle built for hunters who need reliability without the weight penalty. Chambered in one of the flattest-shooting mid-range calibers, this rifle pairs classic lever-gun handling with practical modern features—including a pistol-grip stock and fully adjustable sights that work straight out of the box. At 6 lb 8 oz with a 20-inch barrel, it's the kind of rifle that doesn't wear you down on a long day in the field or at camp, yet the stainless steel construction shrugs off weather that would corrode lesser guns.

This is lever-action rifle shooting without compromise. The .243 Win round is known for flat trajectory, manageable recoil, and effective range on varmints, predators, and smaller game—making this BLR a versatile choice whether you're working open country or brushy terrain. The gloss black walnut furniture gives it traditional aesthetics, but the stainless steel barrel and receiver are built to last in hard use. A four-round capacity keeps the action fast and the rifle responsive, exactly what you want in a lever gun.

The Browning BLR Lightweight Stainless carries all the ergonomic advantages of a pistol grip and quality sights that don't require optics to be effective. The 1:10 twist is optimized for the .243 Winchester round, and the fully adjustable rear sight lets you fine-tune for your load and distance without gunsmithing. If you hunt in unpredictable weather, appreciate the balance of a lighter rifle, and want a .243 lever gun that handles like it should, this is it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Browning BLR Lightweight Stainless a good choice for hunting in wet weather?

Yes. The stainless steel construction resists corrosion and rust better than blued steel, making it well-suited for rain, snow, and humid conditions where you can't baby your gear.

Does this rifle come with a scope mount or do I need to buy one?

The specifications provided cover the rifle itself; contact us directly about what's included or available for mounting optics on this model.

What kind of game is the .243 Winchester suitable for?

The .243 Winchester is commonly used for varmints, predators, and smaller game. It offers flat trajectory and manageable recoil, though suitability depends on your specific hunting application and local regulations.

How does the four-round capacity compare to other lever guns?

Four rounds is standard capacity for many modern lever-action rifles and allows for quick follow-up shots. It strikes a balance between being magazine-fed and maintaining the fast, smooth cycling action that makes lever guns distinctive.
