The Browning BLR Lightweight '81 Takedown in 6.5 CREEDMOOR is a lever-action rifle built for hunters who need versatility without compromise. This isn't your granddad's lever gun—it combines the fast-handling, intuitive controls of a classic action with modern features like detachable magazines and takedown capability, making it equally at home in tight timber or during a backcountry pack-in hunt.
The satin gray laminated hardwood stock and matte stainless barrel deliver a non-reflective finish that won't catch sunlight and spook game, while the satin-nickel receiver keeps the rifle looking professional across seasons of hard use. The fiber-optic front sight from TRUGLO and Marbles is a genuine asset in low-light conditions—dawn, dusk, and overcast days when serious hunting happens. The straight-grip, checkered forearm gives you positive control in any weather.
What sets this rifle apart is the quick takedown system. A simple lever flip, a 90-degree twist, and the receiver separates from the barrel in seconds—no tools needed. That means genuine portability for backcountry trips, convenient storage in a vehicle, or easy packing in a hunting duffel. Reassembly is equally fast and takes only seconds. The receiver and barrel are factory drilled and tapped for an optional Browning forward-mounted scout-style scope base, preserving your zero through the takedown cycle if you choose to run optics.
Built on a proven platform and chambered in 6.5 CREEDMOOR—a cartridge that delivers effective range and moderate recoil—the BLR Lightweight '81 Takedown fills the gap between traditional lever-action simplicity and modern hunting capability. It's rugged, dependable, and ready for whatever terrain you and your hunting partner can find.
