The Browning BLR Lightweight 81 Stainless Takedown in 243 Win is a versatile lever-action rifle built for hunters who demand accuracy and portability without compromises. This model combines Browning's legendary lever-action reliability with modern features—a stainless steel construction that stands up to harsh field conditions, a quick takedown design for easy transport and storage, and a compact 20-inch barrel that keeps overall length to a nimble 40 inches. At 6 lb 8 oz, it's light enough to carry all day without fatigue, making it an excellent choice for backcountry hunts, predator control, or varmint work where the 243 Winchester's flat trajectory and minimal recoil shine.
The satin grey laminate stock provides a professional appearance while offering durability in the field. Sights are practical and user-friendly: a brass bead front sight and a fully adjustable rear sight that let you dial in your shot from the bench or make quick field corrections. The 4-round capacity balances magazine-fed convenience with the traditional lever-action feel that many hunters prefer. The 1:10 twist rate is optimized for the 243 Win cartridge, ensuring stable accuracy across a wide range of bullet weights.
Whether you're heading to high country for mule deer, working predators at distance, or looking for a reliable rifle that handles like a dream in tight timber, this takedown lever-action delivers the precision and handling you need. The stainless finish means less maintenance in wet or corrosive conditions, so you can focus on hunting instead of babying your gear.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the takedown feature mean, and why would I want it?
The takedown design allows you to separate the barrel from the receiver quickly and without tools, making the rifle much more compact for transport in a backpack, vehicle, or travel case. It's ideal if you're hiking into remote country, flying to a hunt, or simply want to reduce the rifle's footprint in storage.
Is the 243 Winchester good for hunting, and what game is it suitable for?
The 243 Win is a versatile, accurate cartridge known for light recoil and flat trajectory. It's commonly used for deer, elk calves, predators, and varmints. The 1:10 twist rate on this model ensures reliable bullet stabilization across standard 243 Win loads. Always verify your local hunting regulations and choose appropriate bullet weights and types for your intended game.
