The Browning AB3 Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor is a purpose-built rifle for hunters who demand accuracy without unnecessary weight or complexity. Built on Browning's proven short-action platform, this rifle chambers one of the most effective modern hunting cartridges—a round that balances flat trajectory, minimal recoil, and dependable downrange performance on deer, elk, and similar game. At 6 pounds 12 ounces, it's light enough to carry all day in the field, yet solid enough to shoot tight groups from the bench or blind.
The AB3 Hunter pairs a matte-blued sporter-contour barrel with a classic black walnut stock finished in satin—a timeless combination that works as well in an October stand as it does on a mountain hunt. The 22-inch barrel strikes a practical balance between velocity and maneuverability in timber or brush, while the 42-inch overall length keeps the gun handy in a vehicle or pack. The polymer recoil pad absorbs punishment so you can focus on your shot, and the 13 5/8-inch length of pull fits most adult hunters comfortably off-the-shelf.
This is a rifle built for hunters, not collectors. The AB3 Hunter feeds 5 rounds from a reliable detachable magazine, and the 1-in-8 twist rate stabilizes 6.5 Creedmoor loads across the full spectrum of hunting bullets. Whether you're zeroing at 100 yards or confident to 400-plus, the short-action design keeps things crisp and repeatable. No frills, no unnecessary complications—just a rifle that works.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is 6.5 Creedmoor good for as a hunting cartridge?
6.5 Creedmoor is an excellent modern hunting round. It delivers consistent accuracy, moderate recoil, and reliable energy for deer, elk, and similar game out to extended ranges. The round is accurate, efficient, and popular among hunters who appreciate modern ballistics without excessive felt recoil or wind drift.
Is the Browning AB3 Hunter suitable for long-range hunting?
The AB3 Hunter's short-action design, 1-in-8 twist rate, and 6.5 Creedmoor chambering give it solid long-range potential. The rifle is capable of precision work, though success at extended distances depends on your optics, ammunition, and shooting skills. For hunters comfortable shooting past 300 yards, this rifle won't hold you back.
What's included with this rifle?
The rifle ships as specified in the product details: a complete Browning AB3 Hunter with 5-round magazine. Optics, ammunition, and other accessories are sold separately.
Will this rifle fit me if I'm a smaller-framed hunter?
The stock length of pull is 13 5/8 inches, which accommodates most adult hunters.
