The Browning A5 Sweet 16 is a 16-gauge autoloading shotgun built for hunters and clay shooters who value lighter recoil and pointability without sacrificing reliability. This 2023 model combines Browning's proven Kinematic Drive recoil operation with a nimble 28-inch barrel and comes dressed in Browning Vintage Tan camouflage—a modern camo pattern that works across seasons and terrain. At 2.75 inches chamber capacity, it runs standard 16-gauge loads, making it ideal for upland birds, turkey, and sporting clays courses where a softer-shooting platform keeps you on target longer.
What makes the A5 Sweet 16 stand out is its adjustability and ergonomics. The composite stock features a vertical grip with textured surfaces for confident handling in wet conditions, and it's shimmed for length-of-pull and cast adjustment. Browning includes 1/4 and 1/2 stock spacers so you can dial in the fit to your frame—crucial for consistent shooting. The Inflex II recoil pad manages what little kick the gun produces, and the fiber-optic front sight paired with an ivory mid-bead makes target acquisition fast in changing light.
The gun ships with three Invector-DS choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder), letting you adapt to different game and ranges without buying extras. The Invector-DS system is Browning's modern interchangeable standard, compatible with a huge aftermarket ecosystem if you want to expand your options down the line. Whether you're working a covey of quail or posting at a clay station, the A5 Sweet 16 delivers the handling and pointability that 16-gauge shooters have always loved, wrapped in modern reliability and camo.
