The Bergara Premier Highlander .28 Nosler bolt-action rifle brings genuine custom-grade performance to hunters and long-range shooters without the custom-rifle price tag. Built on Bergara's proprietary Premier action—refined through decades of Spanish gunsmithing tradition and American manufacturing precision—this rifle pairs a premium stainless steel barrel with a purpose-built platform designed for accuracy, reliability, and field durability. The Woodland Camo finish blends tactical aesthetics with practical concealment, making the Highlander equally at home in mountain hunts, precision rifle competitions, or long-range target work.

At its core is the Bergara Premier action: a two-lug design with a separate floating bolt head that ensures consistent locking-lug contact, a coned bolt nose for smooth feeding, and a spring-loaded sliding plate extractor positioned at the front lower lug. The one-piece stainless steel bolt body is paired with a Nitrided bolt shroud and stop for self-lubricating durability and protection against corrosion—a detail that matters in demanding field conditions. The bolt handle itself is Cerakote-finished, and the two-position safety integrates directly into the trigger assembly, allowing the rifle to be unloaded while on safe without locking the bolt handle in the closed position. That's the kind of user-centric engineering that separates serious rifles from catalog entries.

Chambered in .28 Nosler—a potent magnum cartridge favored for long-range hunting and precision shooting—the Highlander comes with a fluted No. 5 taper barrel wearing a Cerakote Sniper Gray finish and finished with a threaded 5/8-24 Omni Muzzle Brake. A Grayboe fiberglass stock provides consistent bedding and weight distribution, while a hinged floor plate magazine with 3-round capacity keeps the rifle responsive and field-friendly. Available in three barrel lengths to suit your specific use case, the Highlander weighs between 7.3 and 7.8 lbs—manageable for backcountry hunters yet stable for precision applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What scope mount does the Bergara Premier Highlander use?

The Highlander is drilled and tapped for Remington 700 scope bases using 8-40 screws. This is one of the most common mounting standards, so you'll have no shortage of quality base and ring options from every major optics manufacturer.

How much does the .28 Nosler Highlander weigh and how long is it?

Weight ranges from 7.3 to 7.8 lbs depending on which barrel length you choose (20", 24", or 26"), and overall length ranges from 38.5" to 45". The 20" barrel gives you a shorter, lighter rifle for brush hunting; the 26" option maximizes velocity and sight radius for long-range shooting.

Can I unload the Highlander while the safety is on?

Yes. The two-position safety is integrated into the trigger assembly and does not lock the bolt handle in the closed position, so you can cycle the bolt and unload the magazine safely without moving the safety lever to the fire position.

What magazine capacity does the .28 Nosler Highlander have?

The Highlander in .28 Nosler ships with a hinged floor plate magazine holding 3 rounds.
