The Bergara B-14 R .22LR bolt-action rifle is a full-size rimfire trainer built for shooters who want affordable, low-noise practice without compromise on accuracy or ergonomics. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle and built on the proven B-14 platform, this rifle mirrors the handling and feel of centerfire rifles while fitting REM700-compatible stocks, triggers, and accessories—making it ideal for cross-training or building a dedicated .22 precision rifle for NRL22 and PRS competition, backyard plinking, or skill development where centerfire ammunition costs and range constraints don't make sense.

What sets the B-14 R apart is its thoughtful engineering for shooters who take their rimfire seriously. The action accepts standard short-action AICS-pattern magazines (loaded as a single-stack 10-rounder), and the rifle ships with Bergara's HMR stock featuring an integrated mini-chassis, adjustable cheek piece, length-of-pull adjustment, and flush-cup sling mounts. That chassis design ensures consistent bedding and keeps the barrel fully free-floated for repeatability. The 18-inch 4140 steel barrel wears a 1:16 twist optimized for .22 ammunition and includes a 1/2-28 threaded muzzle ready for suppressors or other devices. At 9.25 pounds and 38 inches overall length, it's handy without feeling toy-like—a legitimate training tool, not a plinking plinker.

If you're running a centerfire rifle for hunting or long-range work, the B-14 R lets you practice the same trigger press, stock fit, scope mounting, and sight picture at a fraction of the cost per round. Bergara built this rifle because shooters asked for it, and the growing rimfire competition scene proved the demand was real. The REM700 platform compatibility means you already know where to find optic rings, stocks, and triggers that work—no learning curve, just immediate customization.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this .22 rifle work with REM700 stocks and accessories?

Yes. The B-14 R is built on a REM700-compatible platform, so it accepts REM700 stocks, triggers, and optic rings. The scope mounts use standard 6-48 screws found on most Remington 700 rifle bases.

Can I attach a suppressor to the B-14 R?

The barrel features a 1/2-28 threaded muzzle, which is a standard suppressor thread pattern. You can attach a .22-rated suppressor or muzzle device directly to the threads.

What magazine does the B-14 R use?

The rifle uses a single-stack .22LR magazine built within the same dimensions as a standard short-action AICS magazine. Capacity is 10 rounds.

Is the B-14 R good for training with my centerfire rifle?

Exactly. The B-14 R was designed as a full-size .22 trainer with the same handling, fit, and trigger interface as centerfire rifles. You can train the same fundamentals, use the same stock setup, and practice at much lower cost and in areas where centerfire shooting isn't practical.
