The Auto Ordnance 1927A1 Pistol Model TA5 is a .45 ACP semi-automatic with a 10.5" barrel that brings Thompson-style firepower to a compact, handheld platform. Built on meticulous historical research—Kahr Arms examined original engineering drawings and military microfiche dating back to 1919—this pistol honors the legacy of one of America's most iconic firearms while delivering modern reliability in a contemporary package. It's a standout choice for shooters who want distinctive character and authentic design without compromise.

The TA5 ships with one of the Thompson's most recognizable accessories: a 50-round drum magazine, entirely U.S. manufactured to original specifications. The walnut horizontal foregrip, black finish, and fixed blade sights give it a classic look that doesn't sacrifice function. At 5 lbs and 23.3" overall length, it balances firepower with practical handling. Whether you're a collector drawn to American firearms heritage, a .45 ACP enthusiast, or a shooter who appreciates smart engineering rooted in proven design, the 1927A1 TA5 delivers both nostalgia and genuine utility.

This isn't a safe-queen replica—it's a working semi-automatic pistol engineered to exacting standards. The 1:16 twist rifling, aluminum construction, and walnut grip come together to create a firearm that feels as good as it performs. The inclusion of that drum magazine alone sets this above standard pistol packages, giving you capacity that matches its character.
