The Auto Ordnance 1927A-1C Deluxe .45 ACP semi-auto carbine brings legendary Thompson submachine gun aesthetics into a civilian-legal, semi-automatic platform. This isn't a modern tactical rifle—it's a faithful reproduction of an iconic American firearm, built with the same attention to period detail that made the original a standout. Whether you're drawn to classic military history, want a distinctive .45 ACP carbine for plinking and range work, or appreciate the craftsmanship of a gun that turns heads, the 1927A-1C Deluxe delivers that nostalgic handling in a package that works today.

Construction matters on a gun built to last. Auto Ordnance machines the frame and receiver from solid steel or aluminum—your choice depending on whether you prioritize durability or reduced weight. The walnut furniture is genuine American stock, not polymer, giving the carbine a warm, classic feel that matches its retro lines. The 16.5-inch finned barrel with integral compensator balances .45 ACP recoil while keeping the overall length manageable at 41 inches, and the 13-pound weight is honest—this is a rifle you'll notice in your hands, but not so heavy that all-day shooting becomes a chore.

Controls and ergonomics stay true to Thompson tradition. Fixed blade and adjustable sights keep you pointed downrange without modern tactical complications, and the semi-auto action feeds reliably from the 100-round drum magazine capacity the platform supports. The classic brown finish on this Deluxe model complements the walnut and nostalgic design, setting it apart from plain blued alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions

What .45 ACP carbine gives you that Thompson look without breaking the law?

The 1927A-1C Deluxe is a semi-automatic-only carbine that captures the legendary Thompson profile in a legal civilian firearm. It's not full-auto—the semi-auto action keeps it compliant—but the finned barrel, walnut furniture, and overall design will draw every gun enthusiast's eye at the range.

What comes with this carbine—is the 100-round magazine included?

We include the basic carbine as specified. Magazine availability and configuration vary; contact us directly for details on what's bundled with your specific purchase.

Steel or aluminum receiver—which should I choose?

Auto Ordnance offers both. A solid steel receiver delivers maximum durability and that classic heft. An aluminum receiver keeps overall weight lower if you prefer a lighter .45 ACP carbine. Either choice maintains the aesthetic and semi-auto reliability the platform is known for.

Is this carbine suitable for hunting or just range shooting?

The 1927A-1C is built for range work and general shooting. While .45 ACP is a proven round, this carbine's design, sights, and typical use case center on plinking, sport shooting, and appreciation of classic American firearms. Consult your state and local regulations for any hunting applications you have in mind.
