The Auto-Ordnance 1911 A1 GI Spec .45 ACP is an American-made single-action pistol built on the proven design that's been the standard for over a century. This 5-inch barrel model delivers the classic 1911 platform in authentic GI configuration—stripped of unnecessary frills and built for reliable function. Whether you're training, competing, or carrying, a GI-spec 1911 offers straightforward operation and proven stopping power in .45 ACP.
Built entirely in the USA, this Auto-Ordnance 1911 features a carbon steel slide and frame with a matte black finish that resists glare and wears well. The barrel, slide, and frame components are machined from solid stock and heat-treated to handle thousands of rounds without compromise. The gun ships MA compliant and includes checkered wood grips featuring the U.S. logo—a nod to military heritage without compromising ergonomics or control.
Safety is threefold: thumb safety, grip safety, and firing pin block work together to prevent unintended discharge. Sights keep things simple with a blade front sight and a rear sight adjustable for windage via drift, allowing you to zero the gun to your load and distance without specialized tools. At 39 ounces and 8.5 inches overall, this is a full-size 1911 that balances shootability with manageable carry weight. One 7-round magazine ships with the gun, giving you a solid starting point for the range or defensive use.
If you want a no-nonsense 1911 built to original specification and proven reliability, the Auto-Ordnance GI Spec delivers exactly that—without the premium price tag of custom builders. It's the 1911 that works.
