The Arsenal SAR5 5.56mm rifle is a milled-receiver AK-pattern rifle built on proven Bulgarian manufacturing principles and engineered for serious shooters who want authenticity and durability in an intermediate-caliber platform. With a 16.3-inch chrome-lined barrel, intermediate-length polymer furniture in desert tan, and a 30-round capacity, this is a rifle built for accuracy, reliability, and longevity—whether you're running it at the range, in training, or in the field.

What sets the SAR5 apart is its construction. The receiver isn't machined from bar stock; it's milled from a hot-die hammer-forged blank produced by Arsenal Co. of Bulgaria using Steyr manufacturing technology. That hammer-forging process eliminates internal voids and cooling deformations, producing stronger, finer-grained steel than conventional methods allow. The result is a receiver that has already spent over 5.5 hours in precision milling before it ever reaches the assembly line—a level of attention that translates directly into strength and precision you can count on.

The 5.56x45mm chambering, 1:7 twist rate, and FIME Enhanced Fire Control Group give you a modern, shootable platform without compromising on the classic AK ergonomics and design philosophy. The rifle ships with an AK scope rail for optics mounting, an AK-351 muzzle brake with left-hand 14x1mm threads, a trapdoor buttstock (13.4-inch length of pull), sling, one 30-round magazine, cleaning kit, and oil bottle. At 7.98 pounds unloaded, it's a capable rifle for intermediate-range work—effective to 500 meters and practical at much closer distances where the platform really shines.

This is a rifle that rewards familiarity. If you already run AK-pattern rifles or want to add one to your arsenal, the SAR5 combines authentic design with the kind of manufacturing rigor that ensures decades of service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What comes with the Arsenal SAR5?

The rifle ships with one 30-round magazine, AK scope rail, AK-351 muzzle brake, sling, cleaning kit, oil bottle, and a bayonet lug for traditional AK accessories. It's 922(r) compliant and ready to run.

Is the SAR5 magazine compatible with other AK-pattern rifles?

Yes. The SAR5 is 922(r) compliant and accepts both US-made and imported 30-round magazines that fit standard AK-pattern rifles chambered in 5.56x45mm.

What makes the milled receiver stronger than other AK rifles?

The SAR5's receiver is milled from a hot-die hammer-forged blank using Steyr manufacturing technology. Unlike receivers machined from bar stock, the hammer-forging process eliminates internal voids and cooling deformations, creating stronger, finer-grained steel. The receiver then undergoes over 5.5 hours of precision milling before assembly.

What's the length of pull on the buttstock?

The intermediate-length trapdoor buttstock provides a 13.4-inch length of pull, which works well for most shooters in standard firing positions.
