The Winchester XPR Compact Scope Combo in 7mm-08 Rem pairs a reliable bolt-action rifle with a quality optic—a turnkey package built for hunters who need a lighter recoil option without compromise. This compact rifle is engineered for shooters of smaller frame, younger hunters gaining experience, or anyone preferring reduced overall length without sacrificing accuracy. The combo arrives fully scoped and ready to take to the range or field.
Winchester's XPR platform is known for clean, straightforward design. The action features a M.O.A. trigger system for crisp, predictable breaks, and a two-position thumb safety that's intuitive to operate. The steel receiver wears a durable Permacote black finish and arrives drilled and tapped for scope mounts. The precision button-rifled barrel is free-floating and sports a recessed target crown—details that support consistent accuracy shot to shot. A composite stock in matte black keeps weight down while maintaining rigidity, and the compact 13-inch length of pull is ideal for smaller frames.
This combo includes a Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 scope mounted and ready, complete with Weaver-style rings, bases, and sling swivel studs already installed. The Crossfire II's BDC reticle simplifies range estimation and hold-over for hunting. Vortex backs the scope with their full VIP warranty, so your optic is covered. The 7mm-08 Remington chambering delivers proven hunting performance across a wide range of game, with significantly less recoil than larger magnums—a smart choice for compact rifles and shooters managing recovery between shots.
Whether you're outfitting a younger hunter, building a mountain rifle with minimal recoil, or seeking a handy general-purpose compact bolt gun, this Winchester combo removes the guesswork and gets you shooting immediately.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this combo ready to shoot out of the box?
Yes. The Vortex Crossfire II 3-9x40 scope is mounted with Weaver-style rings and bases, and sling swivel studs are already installed. You'll need to sight in the scope before hunting or serious range work, but all hardware is assembled and fastened.
What's the difference between the compact and standard XPR?
The compact version features a 13-inch length of pull, making it ideal for smaller-framed shooters, younger hunters, or anyone preferring a shorter, more maneuverable rifle. The standard XPR has a longer stock.
Why choose 7mm-08 Remington for a compact rifle?
The 7mm-08 delivers solid hunting performance across deer, elk, and similar game with significantly less recoil than larger magnums. For compact rifles—especially those with shorter stocks—the reduced recoil and muzzle blast make follow-up shots easier and faster.
Is the Vortex scope covered by warranty?
Yes. The included Vortex Crossfire II carries Vortex's full VIP warranty, which covers the scope itself against defects and damage.
