The Winchester XPR in .223 Rem is a no-nonsense bolt-action rifle built for hunters and shooters who want accuracy and reliability without the premium price tag. This short-action rifle combines proven Winchester engineering with efficient manufacturing to deliver a tough, precise platform in one of the most versatile cartridges available. Whether you're after varmints, predators, or heading to the range, the XPR 223 brings field-proven performance in a lightweight, manageable package.
Built for real-world hunting conditions, the XPR features a black synthetic stock that grips well even in wet weather and shrugs off the inevitable scratches and scuffs from backcountry use. The matte blue finish resists glare and corrosion, keeping your rifle working when it matters. Inside, the bolt carries a nickel Teflon coating for smooth, reliable operation shot after shot. The M.O.A. trigger system breaks cleanly, supporting the precision this rifle is capable of. A detachable box magazine with 5-round capacity means you can keep spare ammo loaded and ready, rather than loose in your pack, plus swap mags quickly if needed.
At 6 lbs 12 oz with a 22-inch barrel, the XPR 223 balances portability with sight radius. The 13 3/4-inch length of pull and modest drop at comb and heel create a comfortable mount for most shooters. The 1:8-inch twist rate is optimized for the wide range of .223 projectiles in common use. This is a rifle that handles like it costs twice as much but leaves room in your budget for glass, ammunition, and getting out in the field.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Winchester XPR 223 Rem a good rifle for varmint hunting?
Yes. The .223 Rem is a proven varmint cartridge, and the XPR's lightweight, handy 22-inch barrel and 1:8-inch twist make it well-suited for that role. The detachable magazine lets you keep extra rounds loaded and ready for multiple shots, and the synthetic stock handles field conditions without flinching.
What's included with this rifle?
The Winchester XPR comes with a 5-round detachable box magazine installed. No scope is included; you'll need to mount your own optics.
What does the Inflex Technology recoil pad do?
The Inflex pad is designed to absorb and manage recoil impulse, reducing felt recoil and muzzle rise. In .223 Rem, recoil is mild, but the pad contributes to overall shooter comfort and follow-up shot speed.
How does the XPR compare in cost to other Winchester bolt-action rifles?
The XPR was designed to deliver the accuracy and reliability Winchester hunters expect while using more efficient manufacturing and fewer premium features than higher-end models like the Model 70, bringing genuine Winchester quality to a more accessible price point.
