The Winchester SXP Waterfowl Hunter is a 20-gauge pump-action shotgun built specifically for duck and goose hunting. With its 26-inch barrel, 3-inch chamber, and Realtree Timber camouflage finish, this gun gives you the compact swing and quick handling of a smaller gauge without sacrificing the performance you need in the marsh. The aluminum alloy receiver keeps weight down to 6 lbs 8 oz—easy to carry all day through the swamp—while the hard chrome-plated chamber and bore ensure durability against the corrosive salt and mud that come with serious waterfowling.

Built on Winchester's proven SXP platform, this pump delivers the speed and reliability hunters depend on when mallards are working the decoys. The ventilated rib gives you a clean sight picture, and the included TRUGLO fiber-optic front sight picks up low light fast. Recoil management comes from Inflex Technology, which softens the bump so you can shoot all day and still be comfortable. Sling swivel studs are already installed, so mounting your strap takes seconds.

Out of the box, you get three Invector-Plus choke tubes (including Full Modified, Improved Cylinder, and the others Winchester includes), so you can dial in the pattern you need for your hunting situation. The composite stock is durable, lightweight, and finished in camo to blend into your blind or boat. At 46½ inches overall with a 13¾-inch length of pull, the SXP points naturally and handles like a shotgun that knows its job.

Magazine capacity runs to four 2¾-inch shells or three 3-inch magnum loads, giving you enough firepower without the bulk of a 12-gauge. If you want a fast-handling 20-gauge that's proven in the field and ready for opening day, the SXP Waterfowl Hunter is a serious choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the SXP Waterfowl Hunter really a 20-gauge, and what's the chamber size?

Yes—this is a true 20-gauge with a 3-inch chamber, so it handles both 2¾-inch and 3-inch loads. The 20 gives you a lighter recoil impulse than a 12-gauge 3-inch, which matters when you're shooting a lot of birds. Magazine holds four 2¾-inch rounds or three 3-inch magnums.

What choke tubes come with it?

Winchester includes three Invector-Plus choke tubes. This gives you flexibility to tighten or open up your pattern depending on range and conditions. All three tubes are Full Modified, Improved Cylinder, and one other option as packaged by Winchester.

What's the sight setup, and is it good for low light?

The SXP features a ventilated rib with a TRUGLO fiber-optic front sight. That fiber-optic design gathers available light, so it picks up visibility in dawn and dusk conditions when most waterfowl hunting happens.

Will this shotgun handle the recoil of 3-inch magnums?

The SXP comes with Inflex Technology, a recoil pad designed to absorb and reduce felt recoil. Combined with the gun's 6 lbs 8 oz weight and the lighter payload of 20-gauge ammunition compared to 12-gauge, recoil is manageable for most shooters. You'll be more comfortable after a long morning in the blind.
