The Winchester SX4 Upland Field 20-gauge shotgun is a nimble, fast-handling gas-operated semi-auto built for hunters who cover ground after upland birds—pheasants, quail, grouse, and beyond. Chambered in 20-gauge 3-inch with a 26-inch barrel, this 20-gauge shotgun delivers the speed and reliability Winchester's SX4 platform is known for, wrapped in an upland-appropriate package that won't wear you out over a full day of walking. The aluminum alloy receiver wears a matte nickel finish that resists glare in bright field conditions, while the chrome-plated chamber and bore keep things running smooth through years of use.

Winchester engineered the SX4 Upland Field for fast, intuitive handling in the field. The Grade II/III walnut stock and satin varnish finish feel substantial without excess weight—the gun tips the scales at 6 lbs 12 oz. The ergonomics lean toward quick shouldering: a well-shaped stock, larger bolt release and reversible safety button for gloved hands, and an opened trigger guard that accommodates winter gear. The new Inflex Technology recoil pad tames the 20-gauge's already modest recoil, keeping you comfortable through a full morning of shooting. A fiber-optic front sight aids target acquisition in variable light.

Versatility is built in. The SX4 Upland Field comes with three Invector-Plus choke tubes (full, modified, improved cylinder), so you can dial in the pattern for whatever birds you're hunting or how close they're working. The gun accepts length-of-pull spacers if you want to fine-tune fit for your frame. Whether you're hunting upland fields, working a marsh for ducks, or running clays at the range, this 20-gauge handles the job with the Active Valve gas system that cycles reliably across a range of loads—no special ammunition required.

The scroll-engraved receiver and walnut furniture signal that this is a shotgun built to be kept and used, not tucked in a safe. If you're in the market for a 20-gauge semi-auto that balances handling speed, aesthetic appeal, and proven reliability, the Winchester SX4 Upland Field earns a hard look.

Frequently Asked Questions

What choke tubes does the Winchester SX4 Upland Field come with?

The shotgun ships with three Invector-Plus choke tubes: full, modified, and improved cylinder. These tubes allow you to adjust your shot pattern to match your hunting situation and distance to target.

Is the SX4 Upland Field 20-gauge suitable for hunting ducks and geese, or just upland birds?

While the name emphasizes upland hunting, the SX4 Upland Field is a versatile semi-auto that will handle waterfowl as well as upland game, clay target shooting, and other field applications. The 20-gauge and 26-inch barrel make it lighter and faster-handling than a 12-gauge, which appeals to hunters who value agility in the field.

Can the length of pull be adjusted on this shotgun?

Yes. The SX4 Upland Field includes length-of-pull spacers, allowing you to customize the fit to your frame and shooting style.

What is the magazine capacity of the SX4 Upland Field?

The magazine holds up to 4 rounds of 2.75-inch ammunition. The 3-inch chamber also accepts 3-inch shells if you need them, though capacity remains the same.
