The Winchester Wildcat SR is a semi-automatic .22 LR rifle purpose-built for shooters who want an accurate, modern platform without the complexity or cost of centerfire options. This scope combo package arrives ready to shoot with a Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x32mm optic already mounted, making it an excellent entry point for precision shooting, small-game hunting, or plinking without the need to buy and install glass separately. At 16.5 inches, the barrel is compact enough for handling in tight spaces while still delivering the accuracy you'd expect from a precision button-rifled design with a recessed target crown.
Build quality on the Wildcat SR emphasizes practical features over unnecessary complexity. The molded polymer stock keeps weight down and delivers a rugged feel, while the drop-out lower receiver makes field cleaning straightforward—no need to break down the entire rifle. You get a full-length Picatinny rail on top of the receiver and another on the underside of the forearm, so mounting additional optics, lights, or accessories is straightforward if you want to expand capability down the road. The 1/2 x 28 TPI threaded muzzle is suppressor-ready, letting you add hearing protection or a dedicated .22 suppressor when budget allows.
Controls are intuitive and ambidextrous: the magazine release works from either side, and the manual safety button is reversible for left- or right-hand shooters. Ten-round rotary magazines load easily and feed reliably, and the rifle accepts common aftermarket 10/22 magazines if you want extra capacity or backup mags. Sights include a fully adjustable ghost ring rear and ramped post front, so you can shoot irons immediately if the scope fails or if you just prefer open sights. It's a rifle that respects your budget without cutting corners on accuracy or functionality.
The Wildcat SR makes sense for hunters zeroing in on varmints or small game, shooters building a .22 competition rifle, or anyone wanting a clean, modern platform to learn or refine precision shooting fundamentals. It's forgiving to maintain, runs reliably, and the included scope combo takes the guesswork out of getting started.
