The Winchester SX4 Left-Hand Hybrid is a modern gas-operated shotgun built specifically for left-handed shooters who demand speed and reliability in the field. Chambered in 12 gauge with a 3.5-inch magnum capacity, this semi-auto pairs a composite stock wrapped in Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habitat camo with a receiver and barrel finished in Cerakote FDE—a practical color scheme that works across marsh, timber, and open country. The gas-operated design uses Winchester's Active Valve system to cycle cleanly through everything from light target loads to heavy duck magnums, making it equally at home at a clay course or on a serious waterfowl hunt.

What sets the SX4 LH apart for southpaws is attention to ergonomics that matters when your trigger finger is on the left side of the receiver. The reversible safety button, larger cocking handle, and larger bolt release all swing to the proper side, eliminating the awkward reaches and fumbling that plague left-handed shooters on conventional guns. That faster operation can mean the difference between a clean recovery and a missed opportunity when birds are working.

The shotgun ships with three Invector-Plus choke tubes (Full, Modified, Improved Cylinder) so you can dial in your pattern for different distances and game. A TRUGLO fiber-optic sight sits atop the barrel for quick target acquisition in low light—critical during morning and evening waterfowl hours. Inflex Technology in the recoil pad helps manage the punishment of 3.5-inch magnum loads, and length-of-pull spacers let you dial in a comfortable fit. Sling swivel studs are ready for your favorite carry solution.

Chrome-plated internals resist corrosion, a smart choice for waterfowlers and anyone hunting wet terrain. This is a serious left-hand shotgun that doesn't ask you to compromise on features or handling just because of how you shoot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this shotgun truly built for left-handed shooters?

Yes. The SX4 LH features a reversible safety button, larger cocking handle, and larger bolt release all positioned for left-hand operation. Unlike right-hand shotguns adapted for southpaws, this is purpose-built, so you won't reach across the receiver or fumble controls during critical moments.

What's the best use for a 12 gauge 3.5-inch shotgun?

The 3.5-inch chamber and gas-operated system make this ideal for waterfowl hunting, where magnum loads and longer ranges are common. It's equally effective for turkey hunting and capable at clay sports or upland game with lighter loads. The Active Valve system cycles reliably across the full spectrum from target rounds to heavy magnums.

What choke tubes are included, and can I add more?

Three Invector-Plus choke tubes come standard: Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder. The Invector-Plus system is Winchester's standard, so additional tubes and specialty options are readily available from most dealers if you need different constrictions.

How does the recoil pad help, especially with 3.5-inch magnums?

The Inflex Technology recoil pad is designed to absorb and distribute the impact of magnum loads more effectively than a standard pad, reducing felt recoil and follow-up shot fatigue during long hunting days or shooting sessions. Length-of-pull spacers also help you dial in a comfortable fit that minimizes recoil stress.
