Winchester's Super X Xpert High Velocity 12 gauge 3-inch shotshells deliver the velocity and payload serious waterfowl hunters depend on season after season. Loaded with 1 1/8 oz of steel shot and clocking 1550 fps, these rounds give you the range and energy to handle ducks and geese effectively. The proven design has earned its reputation through decades of field performance—if you're building a waterfowl load that balances knockdown and shot count, Xpert is the workhorse that shows up.

Steel shot is the standard for waterfowl hunting across North America, and Winchester engineered Xpert shells around that requirement. The corrosion-resistant construction keeps your ammo reliable in the wet, salty conditions typical of duck season. At 1550 fps, you're getting velocity that extends your effective range without pushing ballistics into overkill territory—the sweet spot for most hunters working over decoys or open water.

Each box contains 25 rounds, so you can practice your lead, dial in your gun's pattern, and fill the bag. The 2 and 3 shot sizing makes these rounds adaptable: 2 shot brings more energy for longer shots, while 3 shot tightens your pattern for closer work. Winchester's consistent quality control means every shell fires the same, so your second shot is as reliable as your first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Winchester Xpert shells legal for waterfowl hunting?

Yes. These loads use steel shot, which is the federal and state standard for waterfowl hunting across the US. Always check your local regulations before heading out.

What's the difference between 2 and 3 shot in this load?

2 shot is larger and heavier per pellet, delivering more energy at longer distances—ideal for geese or open-water duck hunting. 3 shot is smaller, gives you more pellets in the pattern, and works well for closer decoying situations. Both are included in your box.

What guns will shoot 3-inch shells?

Only shotguns chambered for 3-inch (magnum) shells will safely fire these rounds. Check your shotgun's barrel marking to confirm your chamber length before loading—shooting a 3-inch shell in a 2 3/4-inch gun is unsafe and will damage the firearm.

Will these shells work in my older Winchester shotgun?

Only if your gun is marked for 3-inch shells. If it's chambered for 2 3/4-inch rounds, you'll need 2 3/4-inch Xpert loads instead. Inspect your barrel or consult your manual to be certain.
