The Winchester 1892 Large Loop Carbine in .45 Colt is a lever-action rifle built on over 130 years of proven design—a compact, fast-handling workhorse that trades nothing essential for lighter weight and quicker handling. If you want a rifle that shoulders fast, points naturally, and works reliably whether you're hunting, plinking, or just enjoying a piece of American gunmaking heritage, the 1892 Large Loop delivers. The large loop lever is sized to cycle smoothly even with gloved hands, and the 20-inch barrel keeps overall length to 37.5 inches without sacrificing velocity or sight radius.
This isn't a modern tactical platform—it's a rifle that respects what works. The Grade I walnut stock wears a rich satin finish and is straight-grip contoured for solid control. The action is all business: dual vertical locking lugs (scaled down from the legendary 1886) provide the strength to handle full-power .45 Colt loads, while the rebounding hammer and top-tang safety give you real margin for error in the field. A steel contoured carbine buttplate shoulders quickly and protects the stock from hard use. The button-rifled barrel with recessed crown spins rounds at 1:26 twist for consistent accuracy across the spectrum of .45 Colt ammunition, from cowboy loads to full power.
Sights are honest and functional: a Marble Arms front sight with brass bead for quick target acquisition, paired with an adjustable rear semi-buckhorn sight that'll zero any load you feed it. A steel loading gate and saddle ring round out the package—a nod to its heritage and a practical attachment point if you still ride. At 6 pounds and handling like a rifle half its capability, the 1892 Large Loop is equally at home in timber, on a horse, or just proving that sometimes the best design is a design that's already won.
