The Weatherby Vanguard Weatherguard 6.5 PRC bolt-action rifle brings serious long-range capability to hunters who demand both performance and durability without breaking the bank. Built on Weatherby's proven Vanguard platform and chambered in the modern 6.5 PRC cartridge, this rifle combines a cold hammer-forged, threaded barrel with a burnt bronze Cerakote finish that shrugs off weather, salt spray, and hard use. Paired with a hand-sprayed polymer stock featuring bronze webbing and a right-side palm swell, the Weatherguard delivers the aesthetics of a premium hunting rifle at an entry-level price point.
What sets the Vanguard apart is the engineering underneath. Every rifle ships with Weatherby's sub-MOA guarantee: a 3-shot group of .99 inches or tighter at 100 yards from a cold barrel when fed Weatherby factory or premium ammunition, valid for two years from the original purchase date. That's not marketing talk—it's a promise backed by hand-fitting and quality control on every rifle. The fluted bolt body, one-piece machined construction, fully enclosed bolt sleeve, and integral recoil lug all contribute to the rigidity and reliability hunters depend on in the field. The adjustable two-stage trigger gives you the precision needed for longer shots, while the 3-position safety and hinged floorplate keep you in control.
Whether you're glassing for mule deer at elevation, hunting elk at range, or punching paper to dial in your load, the 6.5 PRC gives you a flat-shooting, wind-bucking round with manageable recoil. The 26-inch barrel maximizes velocity and accuracy potential. This is a rifle built to hunt, backed by Weatherby's reputation for reliability, and finished well enough to hang in the cabinet with rifles costing twice as much.
