The TriStar Cobra III 23155 is a 20-gauge pump-action shotgun built for hunters and sport shooters who want a lightweight, fast-handling gun that won't break the bank. At 6.8 lbs with a 26-inch barrel, it's nimble enough for upland birds and small game while staying controllable in the field. The synthetic Max-7 camo stock and foregrip give you a secure, weather-resistant grip in wet conditions, and the matte blue receiver keeps glint to a minimum when you're glassing cover.

This is a genuine working gun, not a range toy. The chrome-lined barrel resists corrosion and extends the life of the bore, while the multi-choke system (FMIC) lets you tailor your pattern to the shot you're taking—tighter for distance, more open for close-flushing birds. The 5+1 capacity (three-inch chamber) gives you enough rounds for a productive morning without excessive weight. The red fiber-optic front sight picks up fast in low light, and the cross-bolt safety is intuitive and positive.

Sling swivel studs come standard, so you can rig it to carry hands-free when hiking between spots. The rubber butt pad soaks up recoil and won't mar a vehicle interior. If you're shopping for a no-frills, reliable 20-gauge that does the job without fuss, the Cobra III deserves a hard look.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the effective range and what should I hunt with this shotgun?

The 20-gauge Cobra III with its 26-inch barrel and multi-choke system is well-suited for upland game birds, small game, and sport shooting applications. Pattern performance will depend on your choke selection and load, so pattern it at the distances you intend to hunt to confirm your preferred setup.

Can I change the chokes on this shotgun?

Yes. The Cobra III uses a multi-choke (FMIC) system, which allows you to swap choke tubes to adjust your shot pattern—tighter chokes for longer range, more open chokes for close work.

Does this shotgun come with sling studs and is it ready to sling?

Yes, the Cobra III comes with sling swivel studs installed. You'll need to purchase a shotgun sling separately and attach it to these studs for hands-free carry in the field.

How reliable is the pump action and what maintenance does it need?

The Cobra III features a chrome-lined barrel and functional pump action. Like all shotguns, regular cleaning after use—especially after wet or dusty conditions—will keep it running smoothly and extend its life.
