TRAD Lightning Fire Musket Nipples - Precision Ignition Accessories for Traditional Firearms
Traditions
If you shoot a traditional muzzleloader, keeping spare percussion nipples on hand is just good practice. The Traditions LFS Musket Nipples 1/4x28 Threads are replacement percussion nipples designed for USA-made muzzleloaders with 1/4x28 threaded breeches. These nipples accept standard musket percussion caps, giving you reliable ignition when you need it most—whether you're at the range or in the field during hunting season.
Percussion nipples take a beating. Every shot subjects them to pressure, temperature swings, and corrosion, especially if you're shooting black powder outdoors in variable weather. Eventually, they wear, crack, or get damaged enough that cap seating becomes inconsistent or caps won't fire reliably. Rather than troubleshoot ignition problems in the field, keep a pack of factory replacements ready to go. These are genuine Traditions parts, engineered to the same spec as the originals that came with your rifle or musket.
Each pack includes two nipples, so you have a spare or can outfit two rifles. Installation is straightforward—unscrew the worn nipple and thread in the new one hand-tight, then snug it with a wrench. Note that these musket-style nipples are not compatible with Traditions Thunder Dome breech plugs, so verify your breech plug model before ordering. If you run a standard 1/4x28 threaded breech, you're good to go.

These are designed for USA-made muzzleloaders equipped with 1/4x28 threaded breeches. If your rifle has that thread size, these Traditions nipples will thread in directly. They are not compatible with Traditions Thunder Dome breech plugs, so confirm your breech plug model first.
These nipples accept standard musket percussion caps, which are readily available from any black powder or traditional firearms supplier.
Percussion nipples wear over time and can develop cracks or erosion from repeated firing and exposure to moisture and black powder residue. A damaged or worn nipple can cause misfires or inconsistent ignition. Keeping spare nipples on hand lets you quickly swap out a worn part and get back to shooting.
Each package includes two nipples, giving you a spare or allowing you to outfit two rifles.
