Serrated Black Nitride Steel

The Taurus GX4XL 9mm pistol is a microcompact carry gun built for shooters who want serious firepower in a slim, manageable package. With a 3.7" barrel and 13-round capacity, this single-action striker-fired platform gives you meaningful ammunition supply without the bulk that makes pocket carry or IWB holster work a chore. If you're hunting for a dependable 9mm that handles like a full-size but conceals like a subcompact, the GX4XL is engineered to bridge that gap.

The frame and barrel are stainless steel—the slide is hardened alloy steel with gas nitride finish—so corrosion isn't a concern whether you're running it at an indoor range, in the field, or as an everyday defensive tool. The barrel itself sports a DLC coating for durability and low friction. Two magazines come in the box, and the reversible magazine release means lefties don't have to compromise on ergonomics. The flat-faced, serrated trigger is designed for positive control, while the striker block, loaded chamber indicator, and visual safety features keep you informed and secure.

Handling and ergonomics matter on a carry gun, and Taurus packed thoughtful details into the GX4XL. The grip and magazine cuts speed magazine changes, the signature recoil management pad tames felt recoil in a compact frame, and the easy takedown pin means you can field-strip it without gunsmith tools. Front sights are fixed; the rear sight drifts for windage adjustment, letting you dial in your point of aim without permanent modification. At just 20 ounces unloaded and under 6.5 inches overall length, it's nimble enough for daily carry while staying controllable on demand.

The GX4XL earned its reputation as a solid option for concealed carry, home defense, and recreational shooting—anywhere you need a 9mm that doesn't announce itself in your waistband or range bag.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Taurus GX4XL 9mm good for concealed carry?

Yes. At 20 ounces and 6.43 inches overall length, it's designed as a microcompact pistol suited to IWB holster carry or pocket rigs. The slim 1.08" width and manageable profile make concealment practical for daily wear, while the 13-round magazine gives you respectable firepower for a carry gun this size.

Can a left-handed shooter use the GX4XL?

Yes. The magazine release is reversible, so you can move it to the other side of the frame to suit your dominant hand. This is a straightforward mod that doesn't require a gunsmith.

What sights come on the GX4XL, and can I adjust them?

The front sight is fixed; the rear sight is drift-adjustable for windage. You can dial in your zero by drifting the rear sight without permanent modification. Neither sight is tritium or fiber optic as supplied, but the fixed design keeps the gun clean and snag-free.

How many magazines are included?

Two 13-round magazines come with the pistol. Both feature the grip cuts designed to assist in magazine stripping during reloads.
