The Taurus 66 is a medium-frame revolver built for shooters who want a versatile, reliable handgun for defense or sport shooting. Chambered in .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P, this 7-round stainless steel revolver delivers the stopping power of magnum rounds with the option to step down to standard .38 loads for practice or reduced recoil. The 4-inch barrel strikes a practical balance between sight radius and shootability, making it equally at home on the nightstand, in a duty holster, or at the range.

Stainless steel construction means the 66 handles weather and hard use without rust, and the medium frame is compact enough to carry or store without being unwieldy. Whether you're a shooter who prefers the simplicity and reliability of a revolver or someone building out a practical defense setup, the Taurus 66 offers proven design at a straightforward price point.

This is a working gun—not flashy, not over-engineered—just a solid revolver that does what you ask of it. If you've run other Taurus revolvers, you know what to expect: honest mechanical reliability and no frills.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I shoot .38 Special in the Taurus 66?

Yes. The 66 is chambered for both .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P ammunition, so you can load either round depending on your needs—full-power magnums for defense or standard .38s for practice and reduced recoil.

What's the difference between a Taurus 66 and larger revolver frames?

The Taurus 66 is a medium-frame revolver, which means it's a step up from compact snub-nose designs but smaller and lighter than full-size N-frame revolvers. This makes it easier to carry and handle while still delivering serious .357 power.

Is the Taurus 66 good for concealed carry?

The medium frame and 4-inch barrel make the 66 manageable for belt carry or duty use. Concealment depends on your holster and clothing, but it's certainly more concealable than a full-size revolver and more shootable than a snub-nose.

Why stainless steel?

Stainless construction resists rust and corrosion, making it a low-maintenance choice for a working revolver that sees regular use or exposure to weather.
