The Stevens 301 Turkey Shotgun is a no-nonsense single-shot 12 gauge built for dedicated turkey hunters who value simplicity, reliability, and effective pattern placement. With a 26-inch barrel and 3-inch chamber, this break-action shotgun delivers a clean, uncomplicated platform that lets you focus on the hunt rather than complicated mechanics. The matte-finished chrome alloy steel barrel paired with a carbon steel receiver keeps weight down at 6 pounds—light enough to carry all day but substantial enough to shoot modern turkey loads with confidence.

Dressed in Mossy Oak Bottomland camo, the Stevens 301 disappears in spring woods and fields. The synthetic stock and fore-end won't swell or crack in wet conditions, and the included recoil pad helps manage the shot. Ambidextrous safety and swivel studs round out the field-ready design. The real advantage here is what Stevens left out: no gas system to maintain, no complicated choke system—just a reliable mechanical action that will work when it matters.

The removable one-piece rail opens your options for aiming. You can use the traditional bead sight (which works with TruGlo sight systems), or equip the 301 with a red dot or low-power optic for faster target acquisition in low light. The included Extra Full choke tube (Win. choke pattern) is already optimized for modern turkey ammunition, so you're ready to head to the field right out of the box. At 41.5 inches overall with a 13.8-inch length of pull, this shotgun shoulders naturally and won't feel cramped in brush or from a blind.

If you prefer a simple, proven turkey gun that doesn't ask you to babysit moving parts, the Stevens 301 delivers. Single-shot means one clean opportunity—which focuses the mind the way turkey hunting should.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mount a red dot or scope on the Stevens 301?

Yes. The shotgun includes a removable one-piece rail that lets you attach a red dot, reflex sight, or low-power optic. If you prefer to keep the rail off, the bead sight is fully functional and compatible with TruGlo sight systems.

What choke tube comes with it?

An Extra Full choke tube (Win. choke pattern) is included. This is optimized for turkey hunting and ready to use straight out of the box.

Is this shotgun suitable for left-handed shooters?

Yes. The Stevens 301 features an ambidextrous safety, so both left- and right-handed shooters can operate it comfortably. The simple break-action design is inherently shooter-neutral.

What size ammunition does it take?

The 301 is a 12 gauge with a 3-inch chamber, so it handles standard 12 gauge loads including modern turkey ammunition.
