The SML 1911 HPX .45 ACP 5" is a no-nonsense tactical 1911 built for shooters who value reliability and rugged performance. Chambered in .45 ACP, this full-size pistol combines classic 1911 ergonomics with modern tactical refinements—deep-cut serrations, high-profile sights, and a purpose-built profile that works equally well on the range, in competition, or as a duty gun. If you're after a .45 that feels solid in your hand and shoots where you point it, this one delivers.
The frame and slide are precision CNC-machined from 4140 carbon steel forgings, then finished in a durable satin non-gloss black that resists glare and wear. You get a match-grade 5-inch stainless steel barrel paired with a match bushing—the kind of lockup that keeps groups tight shot after shot. The ejection port is lowered and flared to keep brass flowing reliably, while aggressive serrations on the front and rear of the slide give you positive purchase in any grip.
Sights are Novak-style white dot high-profile, low-mount units—the kind serious shooters choose because they're fast to pick up and cowitness with most optic plates if you go that route down the road. The honeycomb-pattern grip panels feature a thumb relief cut for high-hand positioning without fatigue, and the enhanced slide-to-frame fit keeps everything tight and consistent. With 7+1 capacity, you've got a standard single-stack mag in a full-size package.
This is a working 1911, not a safe queen. The materials and machining reflect that: carbon steel that'll handle hundreds of rounds without babying, a satin finish that hides wear rather than showing every fingerprint, and a design philosophy that prioritizes function over flash.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the SML 1911 HPX suitable for duty or home defense?
Yes. The .45 ACP chambering, match-grade barrel, reliable ejection port design, and tactical sights make this pistol well-suited for defensive roles. The durable carbon steel construction and enhanced slide-to-frame fit support the consistent performance you need in critical situations.
Can I mount an optic on this 1911?
The supplied facts don't specify an optic mounting system, so we can't confirm that capability. Contact us to discuss your optics plans for this model.
What's included with the pistol?
The supplied facts don't specify what ships in the box. We'd recommend confirming accessories and magazines directly with our sales team.
Why choose a 5-inch barrel 1911 over a compact?
The 5-inch barrel gives you the full-size 1911 experience: longer sight radius for accuracy, more velocity from the .45 ACP round, and the ergonomic feel of a true Government-length frame. It's the classic platform that works for range, competition, and serious use.
