SCCY CPX-3 .380 ACP FDE/Black NMS Red Dot Ready Handgun
- Caliber-Gauge:
- 380 ACP
- Finish-Color:
- Flat Dark Earth
The SCCY CPX-3 .380 ACP is a no-nonsense concealed-carry pistol built for shooters who prioritize reliability and shootability over complexity. This FDE and black two-tone variant arrives red dot ready—meaning you can mount a modern optic without gunsmithing—making it a practical choice for both new and experienced CCW carriers. With a compact 2.96-inch barrel and lightweight polymer frame, the CPX-3 delivers genuine concealability without sacrificing a full firing grip or usable sight radius.
SCCY's proprietary Roebuck Quadlock recoil system is tuned to manage the snap of .380 ACP, keeping follow-up shots fast and muzzle rise predictable. The double-action-only trigger—with a 9-pound pull—provides a consistent, familiar press from first round through the last of your 10+1 magazine capacity. That means no manual safety to forget under stress, and no mode confusion when drawing defensively. The 15-ounce carry weight is genuinely minimal, yet the gun doesn't feel like a toy in your hand.
This is a pistol built to be used, not admired. Stainless steel slide, polymer frame, and G-43 style iron sights (supplemented by the red dot mounting interface) add up to an honest tool. Whether you're new to concealed carry or a seasoned shooter looking for a lightweight backup, the CPX-3 strips away marketing noise and delivers function.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the SCCY CPX-3 red dot ready out of the box?
Yes. This variant is manufactured red dot ready, meaning it accepts a compatible mini red dot optic without additional gunsmithing. You'll need to source and mount your chosen optic separately.
What's the difference between this and a single-action or decocker pistol?
The CPX-3 uses a double-action-only trigger, which means every press is the same 9-pound pull. There's no manual safety to manipulate and no decocker lever to manage—you draw, press the trigger, and fire. This simplicity is intentional for defensive carry.
Is the .380 ACP round adequate for self-defense?
Ammunition selection is a personal decision. The .380 ACP is a smaller cartridge than 9mm or .40 S&W, and shot placement matters significantly. We recommend consulting ballistic testing resources and speaking with defensive firearms instructors to make an informed choice for your situation.
