The Savage Arms Impulse Elite Precision .300 Win Mag bolt-action rifle is built for shooters who demand sub-MOA accuracy and lightning-fast follow-up capability. This straight-pull action platform combines the speed advantage of Savage's Impulse mechanism with competition-grade precision—a rare pairing that makes it equally at home on the long-range competition line or behind a hunting rifle. The gray Cerakote finish over an aluminum chassis gives you a modern, durable platform that resists corrosion in the field while keeping weight down for extended shooting sessions.

The heart of the Impulse Elite Precision is its Modular Driven Systems (MDT) Adjustable Core Competition chassis, a purpose-built platform that replaces traditional wood or plastic stocks with fully adjustable length-of-pull (14–15.5 inches) and comb height. This means you can dial in your fit precisely—critical for consistent cheek weld and sight picture in precision shooting. The full-length ARCA rail on the forend accepts a wide range of aftermarket accessories, while M-Lok slots give you flexible mounting options. Up top, the receiver carries an integral 20-MOA rail, ideal for heavy magnification scopes and extreme-distance shooting.

The barrel is Savage's precision button-rifled stainless steel, finished with a modified Palma contour and threaded for a suppressor or muzzle brake (5/8-24 threads). Inside the action, the AccuTrigger delivers a user-adjustable pull weight of 1.5–4 pounds, letting you tune the break to your preference and technique. An AICS magazine holds five rounds of .300 Win Mag and releases from either side, and the ambidextrous bolt handle lets you operate the action quickly from either shoulder. The matte finishes on the receiver and barrel minimize glint and are built to handle field use without worry.

This rifle is purpose-designed for long-range shooters who value precision and speed—whether you're running a match, taking a distant hunting shot, or simply punching steel at distance. The Impulse action's smooth, straight-pull operation reduces fatigue during extended practice and makes recoil management easier when you need fast, accurate follow-ups.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Impulse action different from a standard bolt rifle?

The Impulse is a straight-pull action, meaning you move the bolt handle straight back and forward rather than up-and-down. This ergonomic design reduces shooter fatigue, minimizes sight picture breakage during the operating cycle, and allows faster follow-up shots—especially valuable in competition or when taking a second shot in the field.

Can I adjust the length of pull and cheek rest on the MDT chassis?

Yes. The MDT Adjustable Core Competition chassis gives you full control over length-of-pull (14–15.5 inches) and comb height, so you can dial in your fit for a consistent cheek weld and sight picture regardless of your build or shooting position.

Is this rifle set up for a suppressor?

The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24, a common standard that accepts suppressors and muzzle brakes. You'll need to source the suppressor or brake separately, but the rifle is ready to thread one on once you have it.

What kind of scope mounting options does this rifle have?

The receiver features an integral 20-MOA rail, purpose-built for precision and long-range work. It accepts standard Picatinny rings and bases. The full-length ARCA rail on the forend also allows you to mount accessories forward of the action if your layout requires it.
