The Savage Arms 64 F Takedown LH is a left-hand .22 LR semi-auto rifle built for shooters who value reliability, portability, and the flexibility to break down their gun for transport or storage. Based on Savage's proven Model 64 platform, this takedown rimfire combines straight-blowback dependability with a compact 16.5-inch barrel and a simple barrel-nut design that lets you separate the upper and lower in seconds—no tools required. Whether you're heading to the range, the field, or camp, the included Uncle Mike's Bug-Out Bag makes it easy to pack and go.

Built around a 10-round detachable box magazine, the 64 F feeds .22 LR rounds reliably through its semi-automatic action, delivering consistent shot placement for small-game hunting, target practice, or rimfire competition. The matte black synthetic stock and carbon steel receiver are finished to resist the elements, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for standard scope mounts, so you can add glass if you want to extend your effective range. At 5 pounds and 40.5 inches overall, it's nimble enough for a young shooter or anyone who prefers a lighter rifle.

Left-hand operation means the safety, magazine release, and charging handle are positioned for southpaw shooters—a feature that's often hard to find in the rimfire world. The 16-inch twist rate stabilizes .22 LR bullets reliably, and the sporter-profile barrel strikes a balance between accuracy and weight. If you need a takedown .22 that doesn't compromise on function or value, the Savage 64 F is a straightforward choice for backpack hunting, survival kits, or anyone who likes the option to break their rifle down.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this rifle suitable for left-handed shooters?

Yes—the Savage 64 F Takedown LH (noted by the "LH" designation) is purpose-built for left-hand operation, with the safety, magazine release, and bolt positioned for southpaw shooters. This is an advantage if you're left-dominant and tired of hunting for left-hand rimfire options.

Can I add a scope to this rifle?

Yes. The receiver is drilled and tapped to accept standard scope mounts and rings, so you can attach optics to extend your range or improve accuracy on target.

How does the takedown system work?

A barrel nut allows you to separate the barrel from the receiver quickly and without tools. This design makes it easy to break down the rifle for transport in the included Uncle Mike's Bug-Out Bag or for compact storage.

What magazine does this rifle use?

The Savage 64 F feeds from a detachable 10-round box magazine chambered in .22 LR, which is easily removed and replaced for quick reloads at the range or in the field.
